Were just north of Knoxville heading to barber and my friends Duc threw it's chain. Were sitting on the side of I75 right now. Can anyone help us get a replacement? |

If you log out and log back in, you can access the BRAN. There are a couple of people in the area. I am five hours away. If you can't see the BRAN I can give you some phone numbers to try. |

We gott'em headdin' in the right direction. Seems like he had towing services on his insurance or other and is being towed to a shop in knoxville where a buddy of their's is meeting them with a chain. |

Thrown chain? I haven't had one of those since dirtbikes! Did it damage the engine? My 1977 RM125 loved to jam the chain up against the shift shaft so that I could feed the mosquitoes. |

Were at the shop right now, getting ready to put the chain in and back on the road. Thank you guys for all your help, one more reason I ride a Buell. My friends can't believe there is such a thing as BRAN, and Buellers willing to help. And a big thanks to Laffollett Honda for staying late and helping us out. |

I think the person who coined the phrase "adventure bike" rode something with chain drive. I grew up with chains and have had an adventure or two that were instigated when a chain failed. They won't be my last. |

Is his Duc an MS? If not, what is she? |

Think about that for a minute. Laffollett HONDA store stayed late to help a DUC rider!?!?! That is pretty cool if you ask me! |

Yeah, Badweb and the Bran have spoiled us for sho'! I belong to a Vulcan site as well and it doesn't have near the traffic or support you find here. If my Vulcan ever breaks down I'm calling you guys, I just won't tell you what I'm riding until you show up |

What make the BRAN wonderful are the people who volunteer to put their names on it. Speaking of...the BRAN is due for an update. Will try and get to it soon. If anyone hasn't added their name, please post your info on the BRAN page or drop me a PM. BadWebbers are the best!! |

Well we arrived at the hotel at about 5 this morning, got a few hours of sleep and are off to get his chain rivited. The guy did say he would have to go get a tetanus shot after touching a Ducati. Thanks again for all of your help. Hope to see some of the Badwebbers at the race. |

Good story, great happy ending... I got a call from Craig yesterday evening around 8ish- they were broke down quite a ways off from me, up I-75, believe it or not close to "Stinking Creek". Me and the GF had just arrived with dinner at our friend's house, about 20 miles away from home where my ramp was, in the opposite direction... My first thought was- Vern lives a little closer, definitely has the gear... second thought, "what's in your wallet?" Luckily Duc dude has roadside assistance on his insurance policy! A flatbed was only a phone call away... the miracle to me was that Lafollette Honda would (a) stay open so late, and (b) actually fix a dead Duck! Super Kudos to them, the service manager and the tech that went over and beyond the norm... At first I was pretty much at a loss as to what I could do, then a simple question... moral of the story is: Remember and USE that policy that costs SO MUCH when you need to! Hope everyone has a great trip to/from Barber- gawd I'm tempted to head down, if it were not for the $$$ and having to abandon the GF just before she takes a trip next week... Craig, holler when youn's are heading back north! Keep the rubber side down, and for you non-Buellers, keep the chain riveted... |
