"...the ZTL system does away with that torsional load on the front wheel, and the spokes only need to support the weight of the bike and forward g forces when braking..." True, and the rear spokes have to transfer lots of power, i.e. torque to the rear rim/tire from the sprocket/center hub. Thus the difference. G |

Oh, and the front wheel needs to withstand the side loads of cornering, thus the triangulation which is not apparent from a straight on side view. G |

From the motorcyclist link - The superlight machine feels preternaturally fast, accelerating with an urgency that surpasses even BMW's overdog S1000RR. Read more: http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/firstrides/122_1 109_2012_erik_buell_racing_1190rs/index.html#ixzz1 PVT5ZSa3 |

"...from the sprocket/center hub..." All-new "hubless" cast-magnesium wheels-the latest example of Buell's typically radical innovation- Obviously he is well ahead of me, (and the rest of the motorcycle world). G |

In the body of the article they write that the bike has a claimed BHP of 160, while the spec sheet in the article matches the E.B.R. spec sheet which shows a BHP of 175. What's up with that? I think that they gave it five of five stars and didn't knock the bike at all is awesome (except the criticism of total stopping power). Well done article regarding the bike. Well done bike Mr. Buell! |

The article says 160 rear wheel horse power; the 175 HP rating is at the crankshaft. |

"I've taken a lot of blame over the years for Buell motorcycles, often for decisions that had nothing to do with me," he says. "Not this time. This is exactly what I wanted to build!" |
