First trackday with the GoPro. Which door should I use? Camera is mounted on the right side of the Headlight mask. |

Either one will probably be nothing but wind noise. I suggest you put a cable tie around the case to make sure it can not open if the latch fails. One of the thin ones wedged between the lens and the power button. Use R3 mode (60 frames per second). Also remember to tie a safety strap to the camera so it doesn't get away. |

USe the waterproof door at track day speeds. |

GoPro is one of the few camera which doesn't get overwhelming wind noise at high speeds. |

The 60 frames per min is only to get slow mo right? I was told to just use R2. The latch on the door is pretty damn snug. Don't see that coming open. |

i'd worry more about the whole thing falling off at speed than opening up and puking the camera out the housing... I would use the WP door, and some sort of safety strap just in case. you might also wedge some paper in under the clip on the base if it rattles around like mine does w/ some bases. GL! |

You want 60 frames per second to minimize the jello from the CMOS sensor. So R3 is the correct choice. You can use R2 if you want, but I suggest trying each before you commit. |

I had to put a small bit of paper in one side to take up a small airspace that allowed the camera to shake in the housing and you would hear the rattle. Use waterproof housing. |

If there is enough mechanical/exhaust noise for the automatic gain software to pick up, it will filter wind nose effectively. If there isn't enough mechanical noise - it will just record wind-age. I use R2 and the door with holes. Unless it's for broadcast quality output it makes the files easier to manage at 720 - which is fine for You Tube. |

No wind noise problems with the Contour HD, FWIW. |
