Ummm- got my front Pirelli Angel last year at HC, directly from the E_B_R factory, for $50 cash (IIRC Spidey or another BW'er took my $$$)- then took it to a local MC shop, got it mounted for about $53.

Google it. I'm sure the online peeps are working big sales right now... but don't forget your local shops, if that's an option!

Yep, us "BAD"webbers just sold whatever wasn't nailed down. They probably won't let us cart much if anything out of eBr this year. There were some smokin' deals last year. Be there at 10:00 AM Thursday!

I get most of the best deals at JakeWilson.com or Motorcycle-Superstore.com.

I get mine from a local shop. They also make an Angel ST rear for 2 up riding.

svh what's this you speak of a 'two up' specific rear? i have a set of angels now the rear with over 8k the front about 2.5k and the rear is getting to that point. im pretty heavy solo and do some two up riding too so a little harder compound here in the flat lands of floriduh would be nice. freakin sucks to toss a tire with all that good tread left on the sides......

I will try to find info. Local guy saw them when he went to order mine and called me. Most of my riding was 2up until this year and he knew that. Wife is preggers so no 2up this year so I didn't buy it. In hindsight I wish I would have just to see if I can get more than 6000 out of it.

i wonder if that's the 'e' type that i've seen in a few places..

as for HC that'd be great but between needing new tire not being able to get off of work(FNG) and it being daddy weekend with my roses it just aint happenin

Pirrelli Angel ST E.M.S. Extended mileage system. They have different part numbers compared to standard STs according to my guy.

Must explain why I am at nearly 20,000 miles on my old Diablo Strada and it still is hanging in there.

I really think weight is a huge factor in how many miles we get out of our tires. Feather weights, like Froggy, seem to be able to rack up the tire mileage. I am probably Froggyx2 and then do most of my riding 2 up just adds to it.

My ST got just over 6000 but it was squared off. Still had tread but it was not comfortable in a corner. Fealt like the tire was falling over the edge if that makes sense.

I bought the "E" spec tire for my XT last year because it was a two-ply tire as opposed to the standard one-ply Angel. Found out later that this tire is really only necessary for bikes over 580 lbs lightweight. Oh well, still rides and handles okay. Only 1500 miles so far so can't say how long it'll last.

Froggy- man the only thing i can think of is weight. im an easy 260 in full gear. add another 115 when i am two up. add in that i cruise north of 80 at least half the time. construction and generally crappy roads. and i feel lucky to be getting 8500 and counting

I miss the Stradas. I tried Angels on my XT, hated them. They didn't inspire confidence to say the least, and even though my rear's life ended early due to a freak highway rock puncture, it didn't look like it was going to last to even 8k miles. I was getting 12k out of Strada rears like clockwork, and they felt better in the corners.

The only thing I liked about Angels was their wet handling.

I love the way Scorpion Syncs handle, but I'm not sure their mediocre lifespan is worth it. Considering trying a set of Avon Storms next time I need tires.

Add to Froggy's weight equation hyper-miler riding tendencies.

When I ride, fuel economy is last on my mind. I grab copious handfuls of throttle at every possibility.

All that torque slammed into the rear tire eats up the tread life. If you are turning off the motor and coasting down hill and gingerly adding throttle to maximize fuel economy, the side effect is going to be longer tread life.

Boogiman- You and I are in about the same boat weight wise so that has to have something to do with it.

Ft_B- I forgot about his hyper-miling. Much like you I am never thinking about mileage just grinage! Might be why the best tank I have got was 41mpg the one and only trip I tried to get good mileage. Not hyper-miling but not grabbing a fist full.

I am loving my Pirelli's!! Have about 3k on them so far this year and they look brand new. Got them on line shipped for $245 for a set from sporttour.com it was a spring special. I did a lot of searching before I found that price. Good luck and happy BUELLing!!

The worst mileage I get on the Deuce is still better than my car. I figure I AM hypermiling. : D

Weighing two Froggies hurts me a bit I think.

One also has to factor wind resistance into the tire wear equation as well.

The best mileage in my Fusion is actually right on par with the Uly. 43

Which is about 10mpg less efficient than the average on my '00 X1. The '02 w/ 1250 kit and less than perfect fuel maps isn't exactly eco-friendly.

140 lbs. FTW.. I just wish I had the self control to use some of frog's hypermiling techniques.

Highway mileage on my car is a tick over 40mpg. It can't match the 52mpg I see on my Versys.

I haven't been able to get more than 6500 miles out of a rear tire, regardless of brand. I weigh about 185, so I guess the problem is my throttle hand ....?

Pwnzor, you're doing well,I've yet to get better than 5k out of a rear tire.Michelin PR2 at 4800 miles wasn't completely shot but had a 2 inch wide flat spot already,I ride very little slab.

I can't imagine what people are doing differently to be getting 10k or even 20k out of a tire...

seem like wild claims to me, but I'll give the benefit of the doubt here.

The chip seal roads around here(NW AR)are pretty hard on tires.I have almost 8000 miles on Peggy Red and just had my fifth rear tire and third front tire installed today(I sure love new rubber)I probably could have made 8000 miles on them.

I know north GA eats tires HARD.
I've yet to get 3000 miles out of a normal tire, way less on sport tires.
I've been trying out the Pilot Road dual compound tires.
So far so good.
I've got 3000 on them now, and they still look and feel great.
I was surprised to find that they've already come out with the new Pilot Road, the way it looks now, they'll have another generation waiting before I wear these out.
They grip well, and shed water so well I can wheelie in the rain.

I loved the Scorpion Syncs on the TT but the rear wears in the middle & the front goes triangular.

Pilot Road 2 seems good so far sticks well & pretty good in the wet.

I have never been able to reach 5000 miles most go from 3500 to 5000 I know it has to be the road surface as I am 75 yr. old so I must be riding with a lot of caution.
