( No, NOT whores ) They are angelic beings, perfect of form and voice, and eternally virginal and perfect. You also may eat of forbidden foods, and never be sick or get fat. ( P-butter & Bacon with Banana sandwiches are a-ok ) Drugs and alcohol are also ok, and you never have a hangover, or suffer from ED. In short, a 14 yr old's heaven. ( with serious tweaking from old, sick, fat men, who wish they were still 14. ) The heaven of my faith differs a bit. But I'm not knocking theirs. Just trying to keep it real. I was kinda hoping to avoid the "glass parking lot" solution. ( Fighting religious radicals in the streets of our cities would be less damaging than mile high tsunamis and plasma fronts a thousand miles across. Sifo, I can actually understand Barry's disappointment in the lack of high tech displays that roll down from the ceiling. Someone who knows so little about America would never think that the White House is a real old shack. The reason most of the rooms in the WH are small is they had no central heating back then. Syria is working up to a civil war. Asad is a bit of a an Iranian puppet... or so some believe. It's more complex than that. He's the leader of a warrior tribe that rules a country where his tribe is a small minority. Somewhat like Iraq under Saddam. He has his own motivations beyond Iran's wishes for regional domination and desire to be the heart of the Caliphate. Note Iran's people and leaders consider themselves Persian, an ancient folk with a glorious past who have been the overlords of much of the region, and still think of themselves as top dog. ( and racially superior, and no kin to Asad ) Civil War in Iran as well. One may ask "If it's 2 groups of islamist nutjobs fighting each other, what do we care?" I respond, "What do we get no matter who wins?" the answer is, of course, islamist nutjobs. I'm not sure how to support the actual citizens of Iran ( or Syria ) who want an actual republic so they can go on with their lives and drink good coffee. There's the problem of any aid from us being from the Great Satan. That may poison the good guys in the eyes of the common (and uncommitted to politics ) guys. Any ideas? | ||

we have 6.3 million people sitting in prisons .... make Afghanistan the new 'Australia' and deport any 'border challenge transgressor' as well. that should give another 14-38 Million recruits depending on who you listen to. Pakistan our ally? sometimes more than others..... There are people at the highest levels of the secret police and government in Pakistan who are using the perversion of faith that is jihad as a weapon in their ongoing struggle against India. There is a deep strain of shared faith that is heavily influenced by the wahabist Saudi cult, and tribal lands close to Afghanistan have the most primitive and radical tribes. Simple geography. higher in the hills you go, crazier they get. Just like here. Some of the leaders want their land to grow in wealth and advance into the planetary community as equals.... they get killed pretty quick though. Anyway, they want our money, we want to keep a handle, however tenuous, on Pakistans nuclear arsenal, and want passage for supplies for Afghanistan. Realpolitic sucks. It'd be nice if we could talk them into not letting people support the taliban, but since that would reduce their supply of crazy people to use as weapons, I wouldn't hold your breath. I admit, my idea of anti-terrorism action isn't Bush's, or Obama's. I'd simply tell the leaders of countries that support terrorism to stop or we will remove them from power. Then do so. Not occupy, not nation build, not shock and awe. Just remove the leaders, no matter where or who they hide behind. Eventually you have to get rational people in charge. I admit it has flaws, and I'm open to suggestions. | ||

( yeah, I know that's insane. ) So, any thoughts on saving the poor people of Libya? The News doesn't even seem to cover it. Is Gaddafi just killing reporters? | ||
