http://www.flickr.com/photos/kiwirider/sets/721576 26896177374/with/5803412658/ Well we're just counting down to the launch of the new K1600 BMW at Peppers Kingscliffe - Northern NSW. As usual the photos don't do the machine justice. We have a presentation on the bike this evening and a 400km ride planned for tomorrow. 13 bikes will be in the convoy. Part of the ride is at night so we can see how the active headlight system works. There are a few more pics on our Flickr pages too. |

The photos don't due the price tag justice either. If I'm not mistaken, it starts at $24,000. It is a hell of a machine though. |

Yeah - It's a swing at the gold wing market. Same price down here. I haven't got the big camera with me -they have a staffer. |

Saw one at the Rock Store yesterday. It was Jay Leno's bike of the day. |

Hopefully, your ride will take you to Byron Bay for lunch at the Hotel. I had one of the best steak sandwiches of my life there in 1997. Another great steak sandwich can be had at the pub in Brunswick Heads. |

Just got back. Truly amazing motorcycle. One of the most expensive bikes on the market, but you get what you pay for. |

I saw one a couple of weeks ago. He was #2 on a waiting list from Bob's BMW. He said it was one of the first 15 in the US. Freakin' huge, IMNSHO. Very complex-looking, and certainly Bring More Wampum-like. I recall when the RT11550 came out, a friend tapped a curb and tipped over (0 speed). It cost him $4500... I wonder what happens with this one? |

my pal Bob built a way-cool Honda '60s GP-styled Cafe bike - he installed a Benelli 750-6 engine [with Honda end covers] into a Featherbed-style custom frame, & on & on - simply super! fotos online can't be copied - I'll post up once I figure out how...... It's got some hurry up. It'll do that without clutching - just bam the throttle, |

I like how they planed the mufflers to add lean angle. For a big touring / sport touring bike, I like it. |

The engine looks awfully vulnerable to damage in the slightest of mishaps. It's not my cuppa at all, but I can appreciate the engineering. |
