Leaving in the morning from just north of Tampa. Headed to the extreme NW corner of NC. Google says it's a twelve hour ride if slabbing. I'm giving myself most of two days so as to avoid the slab.

Any road recommendations along the way?

TIA.

So you need a little R&R. At least where you work it's sunny every day.

Do Tail of the Dragon for sure. 318 corners in 11 miles. Route 129 between NC and TN.

There a a bunch of roads you could explore and with an Ulysses you'll have no problems wherever you find yourself.

Ride smart.

I don't work in FL...my office is at 37,000 feet. I've done the Dragon...I'd prefer to avoid it...too many LEO's.

I'm on my way to meet my riding buddies. We're going to spend three days riding the twisties near the cabin.

I'm just looking for some fun en-route

Check out Riders Hill in Dahlonega,Ga.It's a pretty cool shop at the start of the good riding in North Georgia.Anything north of there is fun.60,129,180........go north from Riders Hill up 19 to the dead end then left on 129.Go over Blood Mt.
,or stop at the outfitter on the Appalachian trail for a break. Then go north again on 129 to left on Wolf Pen Gap Road (180) to the dead end then right on 60.Take 60 north,in Tennessee it becomes 68.Go to Tellico Plains for lunch. Then ride the Cherohala Skyway to Robbinsville,NC.

I just did the run from Clearwater to Greensboro. It was a solid 12 hour ride in the cage.

We just rode from Leesburg, FL to Blairsville, GA with a stopover at Warner Robins to see the air museum. Time was of the essence for us getting out of FL into GA so we super slabbed to Warner Robins, but if we had more time, staying closer to the west coast in FL to avoid 75 as long as you can is good. Or come up thru the Ocala National forest, four or five curves there as well. 41 has some nice rolling hills, some places remind me more of KY than C. FL.

We went up 83 out of Forsyth to 11 the previous time we were there, then veered over to Cumming where friends lived. Staying on 11 would have been interesting. Rural, nothing too twisty or crazy, but a change of scenery. Did 44/129 to Athens out of Macon a million years ago in a car. Athens is a cool town. Once you get to Dahlonega is when the good stuff starts.

Surely there are more peeps familiar with those groovy GA roads that will chime in.

Have fun and be safe.

+1, what Buellish said- here are your best 2 options for lunch in Tellico Plains:

Best grub, Tellico Bakery, middle of downtown- AWSUUM stone oven pizza and sandwiches, everything from scratch...

Best tableside scenery, Tellico Beach Drive-In- above average food, but you get to eat it overlooking the river that runs alongside the Cherohala Skyway- maybe take a dip if you wanna...

Keep the rubber side down!

BTW, where the heck are you going in NC? Western NC is one of my fave areas to ride...

I'm headed to meet some buddies in a tiny town called Crumpler. Nice cabin and tons of great riding.

Didn't touch the slab all day today. Grabbed a room for the night just outside Augusta.
