The most I have EVER been able to get out of a set of tires was 4200 miles. The least was 1800 out of a Strada rear.
I use sport touring tires exclusively.
I have run higher and lower temperatures trying to find the perfect life extender. It simply doesn't happen for me. |

Just spooned on a set of Scorpion Trails and did 125 miles to scrub in.So far I'm happy with the performance aspect,plenty of stick(enough to drag pegs),very neutral turn-in,stable on the brakes. As for wear I've got a 4k two=up trip through New England in a week and a half, bike will be loaded up with me, my son and camping gear,we'll see how they do. |

The best mileage I have gotten out of tire on the Uly was the Stradas. I got 5300 miles out of one back tire. But I really hated the tires for everything else. When you start comparing a radial tire with a bias-ply tire, you know they suck.
The best overall mileage I have ever gotten out of a rear tire was the Dunlop D205 on the M2 @ 5700 miles, but they were 1313 spent. The Dunlop K505 tires on my CB750 would last over 5000 miles.
Presently running Syncs on the Uly and Avons on the M2. The M2 has not been ridden much over the past years so the Avons have lasted the longest period of time but only have 1000 miles on them. They look on par to really knock out some great mileage. Syncs last around 4000 miles on the Uly.
I really was thinking about PR2 for the Uly but after last weekend's ride with Prior, I am thinking I will stay with Syncs. When off-road they may not be the best, but better than PR2 when the surface gets muddy. |

11K miles out of a Dunlop Roadsmart. Hope to get around 10K on a 009 Raven. I'm 250+ gear.
No wheelies, burnouts. Do like to jump on it 0-60. Still lost the belt at 22K... |

What the hell do you people do to your tires?
When I mentioned Syncs having a "mediocre lifespan" earlier, I was talking about only getting 8k from a rear.
Shoot, the Sync on the back of my XT right now has 3k and change on it and looks to be on par to last 8k just like they've always done on my X1. |

I don't know, I'm sure it has nothing to do with my penchant for full throttle corner exits . PK, what do you weigh? I'm about 230 with my gear,add my son at 150 plus side boxes and topcase all loaded and its no wonder I go thru tires like I do. The Scorp's are my 5th set in 22k |

I'm 140 lbs, never carry passengers for any significant distance, and fully loaded for me means some clothing, toiletries, and liners for all my gear. I don't romp on them 100% of the time, but I'm far from easy on my bikes. Maybe rider weight really does make that large of a difference..

i got 8-10k out of my last strada, so far i like the new rear angel st.
I am always hard on the throttle though. |

update: discovered i needed a new tire right now!! so i called the usual suspects here in jax found a place that had one for $140 however because i don't care for them i went to cyclegear and had them price match it for me. also went and got bead breaker, sppons and rim protectors....
the rim protectors i got failed miserably. rims a little chewed now... |

i always have on every bike i've ridden. i know i do a lot of early slowing and engine braking as i do a lot of long commuting/touring/highway miles |

I know I brake early. Can't get over the fear of losing the front end. I can handle the rear getting a little crazy on aggressive corner exits, but I'm ALWAYS easy on entry.
Better safe than sorry I guess. 40k+ miles on 4 different bikes now and I'm still in the "will crash" category. (now I gotta go find some wood to knock on) |

then there's that. i am just surrounded by complete morons for drivers as it would seem most of us are when we are riding. so i scan into tomorrow!! lol just try and always be wary of anything and everything cages are up to |

It seems I usually have "plenty of tread left" but I get scalloping, and the sides get worn enough to buy a new front at the same time as the rear, or at least enough for me to feel safer getting both instead of just a rear. |

i still had a 'decent' amount of tread left on the front but it was scalloped and that developed in about the last 1500 miles of use before i replaced it. pressures get maintained 2x's a month. bike was and still is riding straight and true. i thought that was a little strange. |

No braking in my case. Brakes = wasted energy = lower fuel economy, so I do avoid them. I can do my entire 35 mile commute with hitting the brakes only twice for stop signs, then once when I finally park.
My tire life is weird, on my 1125CR the original front was ruined before the rear, yet on my 1125R the same front lasted twice as long as the rear. |

Thats what I've started doing. Given that I have my own tire machine now I am trying to keep matched tires on my 1125R and CR, I may reuse a worn front on my XB as that isn't a high priority bike for me anymore. |
