Wishing you the very best! Been fun trading barbs and sarcasm with you these past few years. Keep your facebook page up so I can live vicariously through you.
I tried to post this in Russian, but it didn't work, so: Do svidaniya tovarisch,
The facebook as been taken down. As well as the myspace, and most other social networks that I have been attached to; where they were not all together removed, they were sanitized.
My last Face book entry was Keyser Soze
I am headed to the Ukraine, with maybe some interesting stops inbetween. Pictures when I can, updates as I am able.
What a Phu-cked statement. And how about your 100 post in nine years of membership here. Do you only chime in with dumb-ass statements like the one above. Or is "Racerx" a second log-in, and you don't want to go by a regular screen name?
Either way, that's a punk statement. A pot shot, delivered by one who most likely does not know City, has not taken the time to get to know him, or all the reasons for his decision to move.
I can see Cityx now. Living in a rural area, riding a thirty five year old CZ at speed across farm fields into the woods where he waits for his new bride who will be right on his rooster tails with his new Ural. Muddy goggles and gear, a blanket on the ground, knobby tires everywhere. An awesome sight for sure.
City, would you be willing to help me translate an old family document before you take off? Nothing major, maybe 1/2 hour of your valuable time?
You & I once bumped into each other at a rainy VME gathering in Georgetown a few years ago. I was admiring your Sporty. I don't think we recognized each other as BadWeBbers at the time, but I sure as hell know who you are now!
Thanks for helping keep us real, educated, and entertained.
They really are sweet girls, hours of conversations and fun times, I really like it when they send me nursery rhymes or fairy tales from Ukraine, they are impossible to get here. And of course, yes they are both writing to Micro Squishies. I am hoping that when I get there I can teach english in my off hours. They are all so eager to learn, and well it will help me pick up Ukrainian. (as if Russian wasnt tough enough) besides now that Microsoft owns Skype... I dont know how much longer my letter writing business model will survive.
Back in my sordid younger days while taking a German course in preparation for the Prufung to enter university, my instructor asked what I was doing outside of the classes to polish my skills. I told her my "sleeping dictionary" was helping a lot. She said, "Yes, this also works."
I had 3 years of living at the 'Russian House' at the University of Washington. You were forced to speak only Russian 24x7; if you got caught speaking english you were before a peer review board, and if you had three infractions you were ousted. The classes were miserable, usually 6 hours of homework every night, and even with a dedicated test file, my grades were abysmal... but my speaking abilities excelled because of my in house help. There was a girl from Texas that was a graduate student. when we studied, if I got the questions right it was a nibble or a kiss; when I got them wrong it was a spank or a bite.... ah memories. It was a formidable time indeed. over 20 years later, her memory still gives me chills- I wonder who she is teaching now
Just received the documents for the position, so very stupid excited. I am hoping for a long and illusterious career of postings from overseas.... You will know I am up to it again when you see me standing in front of this, in random off grid Ukrainian locales
