Got my new iPad2 juiced up now. Fantastic bit of kit. One of the unexpected things is how well it extends my art box and integrates with Photoshop CS5 on the main computer - as well as running iTunes for my studio sounds, literally at fingertips. (Macbook is co-pilots) Photos look fantastic on it and music creation in Garage Band is also very cool. I did expect it would be an excellent entertainment device - and it is. Almost looking forward to 4 hours in a plane on Monday. As for the haters - I really don't care. That's your opinion. This stuff works brilliantly for me. Has done for more than 20 years that I've made a good living using it as my work tool. If I wasn't doing art and design and imaging and had stuck with CAD - it would probably all be PC's. The mac 'virus'mentioned was actually malware - that you had to be be daft enough to install yourself. Same with the .pdf hacks. The operator has to install it - because mac OS doesn't recognize self-executable files. .exe don't work so it's harder to deploy viruses. |

DD - don't underestimate the stupidity of the end user... Mac or PC. Nice setup. iPad is a great bit of gear - especially for mobile use (travel, email, light browsing, media *of course*). hard to go wrong if you don't mind paying hte premium. |

I've spent over $US100 on apps already. Just off to buy a stulus for it shortly. Edit - make that stylus! (Message edited by danger_dave on June 01, 2011) |

I'm really leaning towards the Fujitsu Q550 in the full option package. The Acer Iconia W500 is also being considered. |
