I'd think that a thread based on a con man predicting the end of the world for profit would sorta naturally attract the comment that it's all fake. That "look, see? that guys uses religion to rip people off! Isn't all religion a con?" just seems to flow naturally.
A jesuit would respond that the con man serves Satan by casting doubt on the good and bad of the Church. Also the whole rip off thing. But the assault on the credibility of the Church would be paramount.
I see very little bitching about the con man and much about faith. Faith, no matter what faith, if it serves as a good guide for life and offers comfort, is good. When used as a tool to rip people off, or manipulate people to violence, faith is bad.
Any argument? |

Huh???????? I see mostly logical and thoughtful debate. Is disagreement with whatever you believe in (which is impossible to figure out) called intolerance? I oftentimes disagree with the Blake Monster but you gotta stand tall with the Man especially if you argue with the central tenet of his being. Badweb is a beautiful, giving place.
