Dry rub. Am I supposed to give a fk that you dislike the fact that some people do not condone homosexual behavior? |

Wolf i will agree with you wholeheartedly on that you should not have to walk into a foxhole, squad bay, or barracks and watch someone go at it hetero or homo. However on leave if they want to go to a motel and get their rocks off more power to them. In general they should have no more rights or less than any other soldier. |

For the longest time, deviant vice behavior, was immediate grounds for revocation of security clearance So hookers, drugs, high debts, homosexuality, improper work relationships, frequent travel, unexplained large bank transfers, and things that would get you noticed for investigation, living outside your financial means, vacationing to 'sex tours' or foreign black/grey list countries, foriegn contancts (business or personal) and anything that could be construed as material that could be used against you as black male material. and without a clearance.... you making chow until we pull into port, and then you are off the boat, and outta the service next. conduct unbecoming the uniform and bounced. (now outing everyone negates the black mail option, so then it is just back to standard fraternization, and any sexual harassment complaints that arise from that... because in a PC world, A & B maybe in a relationship, and C is offended by their speach, behavior, or actions and badda f'n bing somebody is getting transfered and demoted) |

Very simple. Seriously, whats the problem with "Civil Union" or "GAY Marriage" certificates?? The gays will get all the benefits and civil rights as normal marriages. What is the problem? -OR- Do you also want (demand) me to view/accept your HOMO/GAY/LESBIAN Civil Union marriage in the same way as a normal Man and woman marriage as it has been for the last 1,000 years??? You can wear shoes on the wrong foot all you want. It is your choice. |

So... Anti gay marriage means you're secretly gay. Let's follow this thought to its logical conclusion shall we? People who embrace socialism are closet Capitalists. Jews are secretly Nazis. Obama is really Ronald Reagan (Yeah, I know they've tried to make that ridiculous comparison) Really REALLY stupid assertion. |

I don't have a problem with gay/lesbians...BUT...I don't want to be taking a shower knowing the guy standing next to me may be staring at my junk. Could I have showered with some gay men at some time and knows about it?...sure, but I would personally rather not know. If they kept thing segregated like they do for males/females I wouldn't have a problem. Either that, or let me start showering with the ladies. |

I said anti gay marriage, not anti gay. There is a distinct difference. I don't see anyone saying they're anti gay, just that "marriage" is between a man and a woman. It just isn't applicable between two men, or two women. But, I'll take this one step further... I don't feel the government should have anything to do with marriage. Marriage is a construct of religion, not the state. By authorizing or not authorizing marriages between individuals, the state is violating church and state separation. I should not have to get a license from the government to get married. Think about it. What kind of crap is that? If two gay men can find a priest that will join them in Holy Matrimony before God, then that's on the church, not the government. I'm not pro-gay marriage, and I'm not anti-gay marriage. I don't think there should even be an issue of legality because the state shouldn't even be involved. The state should not use tax policy to encourage marriage, or give tax credits for having children. (There's a biological imperative that drives that, we don't need any encouragement, thank you.), hospitals should not get to decide who gets visitation rights (the patient should). If there weren't all these "benefits" to being married, perceived or real, there would be no issue. These are my opinions, and as such are subject to change, and may be in conflict with other statements I have made, or will make in the future. I'm complicated. let them marry... and shortly there after, watch them divorce, it will be good for the economy, the lawyers should love the activity. I would like to see how they clock up against the 50 loss ratio for marriage for first timers and the nearly 72% for second timers. |

ok, i just went to the don't ask don't tell brief onboard my unit (a ship). honestly, it doesn't seem like that big a deal to me. the training basically stated that homosexual members will not be treated any differently that hetero members. they're not planning on tracking stats like they do with races (example, the coast guard just got it's first black, female pilot). i honestly don't think it's that big a deal and most of the people i serve with feel the same way. it's just the people who are against or afraid that every gay person is out to screw them are the most vocal. i think it's a good thing that people will be able to serve their country without having to lie about who they are and will be able to share their accomplishments with their significant others they same way i do with my family. |

Elective cosmetic surgery is technically allowed if paid for by the service member and does not effect the physical readiness of the member. What happens when male sailor A leaves duty station #1 fit for full duty, and takes the maximum allowed amount of transfer leave. They get a sex change operation en route and arrive at duty station #2 as a full fit for duty female sailor. What type of billet do they fill? If duty station #2 is a forward deployed ship, what type of berthing are they assigned? The DADT briefing I sat through asked these questions, and quite honestly left most of them without answers. Simply stated, berthing segregated by gender is a requirement only because of sexual attraction. When sexual preference can no longer be assumed to align with the natural order of things, and the very gender of the service member is subject to change.. what happens to good order and discipline? |

Cutting off your willie does not make you a woman. Brain is different, and above all else that's what determines gender and sexual preference. Cutting off/out sex organs doesn't change the brain. |

Did they discuss an additional uniform allowance for these folks? Would suck to have to get all new stuff. Other than socks, there isn't much that would be reusable. |

i'm in the coast guard, so the navy wouldn't consider it a big ship, but it's the biggest in the coast guard. very small crew though (90ish). |
