Just have to share because I'm a tool , LOL. I had a mower take a dump, so I was at Lowe's getting a replacement. Figured I'd head over to Hardware to get some bolts n stuff for a friend's M2 that I'm resurrecting. Of course, they park that stuff right near the tools. Grrr. So, I've been thinking for a long time, "I need an impact gun". I have a ton of DeWalt 18V XRP stuff already, including half a dozen batteries and two chargers. So, I don't want to spend $349 for a "kit", with two more batteries and another charger. But I've hesitated ordering a new one online because...well, I don't really know why. So, I wander into tools and there it is - DW059, 1/2" impact gun, 18V. But...wait...this is only $134? OOOOooohhhhhh....it's the TOOL ONLY!!!! And even better....THERE'S ONE LEFT ON THE SHELF!!!! How did I ever live without this thing? It's so niiiiice....300 ft-lbs of torque, reversible, and manageable weight-wise. LOVE IT OK. Just had to share. I'm a dork, what can I say? But it's going to make it MUCH easier to put my 2.5 turbo engine, clutch, and transmission back together!! |

I've been nervous to buy an electric impact. I've got an IR Ti impact gun, 700ft/lbs! I love that thing. If it doesn't loosen the bolt, it'll break it. Either way, it's coming off! 2.5 turbo? Chrysler SOHC? |

I've been wondering about cordless impact wrenches. I was shocked to find out that electric ones actually worked a few years ago. I have had a hard time believing in the cordless variety. I'm pleased to hear a good testimony! |

They work great, especially taking things apart. I'm not sure I would advise putting your clutch and trans back together with it though. If you want to be a real tool get a speed wrench for faster assembly, or a power driver where you can control the torque. |

I got a fancy milwaukee impact gun, friggin thing sits cause the old 18v battery packs don't last, so I still lug around a compressor, hoses and crap. course I need it for the nail guns anyway, so it's not that much a pain. |

That is a standard tool for the 4 wheel desert racers. Great for changing tires fast in the middle of a race. Many have it mounted on the frame in a special bracket making it easy to get to. |
