My gf cat dies 2 yrs ago and she cried for a week! It is always sad when they die. Her turtle almost dies and she cried. I love cats and hate there hair and clawing up my stuff but i would have a cat over a dog only because the dogs need to much attention. |

Sorry for your loss, it's never easy putting a pet down. Here's my Fluffy.

Yes, he most definitely IS "Fluffy." This is the last photo I ever took of Rumour, this past February. She looks resigned to the fact that we were leaving her with my mother as we were leaving for our week long cruise:

I've had a few. The first my brother purposely let out in a snow storm. He was a beautiful Persian Siamese which spent a lot of time out doors, but did not survive the night. I had that cat since three years of age, and only recently knew of its fate. I followed its tracks in the snow and had always assumed that someone had picked it up. It turns out where it ended is where he froze to death. My second was Nermal, an American Shorthair I rescued from a tree as a kitten. It had no fear of autos...held its ground and stared them down if caught in the road (she would never stray far past our yard). Rumor was a "neighbor" lost his patience and ran it over. The last is Lola, an indoor, playful Bobtail that is full of attitude and is still with us today. It's tough. Getting another never replaces the ones that are gone. |

"The first my brother purposely let out in a snow storm." + "Getting another never replaces the ones that are gone." Get rid of the brother. No replacement needed. |

..cats ARE family members and ARE great therapy for a lot of people..and a lot of cheap,FUN entertainment(expecially when they're"spun"...as i like to call it"being chased by the invisible fart monster" after doin'the box thing...or just being amusing on the cat tree in the house. It never ceases to amuse me the funny incidences our cat,Missy, gets into or does, yet it will be a very, very sad time when she goes.Don't care what anyone else says, they are a family member(not just an animal/pet thing)and there are feelings of attachment to them and an emptiness when they are gone.I was that way when i was younger and living at home..always had a cat and hated when one would pass...again a family member. They would live quite a long time, but then you could see/tell when something was wrong..there habits would change and/or see something about them wasn't right...and then they would go in there own way(crawl into a closet and find out or go out and not come back and go looking for them and find them deceased....sorry if this bothers any of you but it is a part of a"family member" thing....... |

Yeah... and we'll get another at the end of the summer. Right now, any kitten we get will be doomed to being compared to our departed Rumour... and she was such a special cat that I doubt it'd do well in the comparison. After we've had time to heal, another kitten will be welcomed into our home. They're always so much fun (and pleasantly aggravating) when they're still kittens. Guess we'll have to make sure the place is properly "Kitten Proofed" first. I still remember the first few weeks with Rumour. I think her FAVORITE thing in the world was to knock things down for the noise it would make, and the reaction it elicited from me. Well, that and the midnight games of "Kitty Soccer" with my bed and body being her favorite playing field... |
