I hope it FINALLY puts the distraction to rest....now lets get some work done on the things that need getting done....balance the budget NOW, not a plan that will start going into effect in 3-4 years. It is so easy for politicians (spit) to come up with plans that dont kick in for several years. The next plan for major change that takes effect the year that it is proposed, that I hear about, will be the first one I've EVER heard of. | ||

So I guess the most recent claim that it couldn't be legally released was a lie too. Not surprising because I've never heard of such a thing. This should have been released 3 years ago. By the way, interesting fact: Although the Constitution DOES say a person must be a "Natural Born Citizen" in order to hold the office of the President, NOWHERE is "Natural Born Citizen" defined in the Constitution. Legal experts today say a "Natural Born Citizen" is either someone born within the United States, OR the child of a US Citizen. In other words, even if he WAS born in Kenya, his mother's citizenship has NEVER been in dispute and he would STILL be a "Natural Born Citizen." | ||

I think the birthers made at least one important point they wanted to make... that Obama was either lying or foolish. He claimed he would have the most open and transparent administration we have ever seen. This was either a foolish thing to promise, or something he knew was a lie. The birthers beating on him for 2 years just kept reinforcing this point. Makes me wonder what the "birther book" coming out will have to say. The sudden release feels like preemptive damage control for something significant. | ||

If only one parent is a US citizen then their offspring are also US citizens no matter where the birth takes place. BUT, if the birth takes place off US soil then a person can be president only if BOTH his parents were US citizens at the time of his birth; as was the case with John McCain who was born in Panama. Just in case you're wondering, I believe Obama is constitutionally qualified to be president. | ||

My understand is that it is the state of Hawaii that wouldn't release it. They only issue the short form certificate to people who request one. They made an exception in this case at the request of the President. I could be mistaken. | ||

I wonder why he and a staff numbering in the hundreds have fought like a caged animal to keep from releasing something that in about any state other than Hawaii anyone can walk in an look at. I carry a card size copy with me. It's just odd. He's been the least transparent and most deceptive President in my lifetime. um, not a document specialist, but I do know photography analysis... and that thing looks doctored. Blow up the address line for the hospital, notice how the water mark is conveniently not consistent for that entry. Frankly I don't give a ratz aszz where he was born, he is a Marxist on the path that Lenin was on in 21; that is enough for me to not care for the man, policies, administration. | ||
