At the price they were blowing those out you could afford a brand new one, do all the mods to make it a bagger and everything else he did to make it his and still have lots of cash left over from just about anything that will touch what that bike will do for him.

It also makes the pods look not so big!

So for those who are ripping on what this guy did... Would you respect him more if he were on a HD touring bike?

Oh boy.

If he enjoys it. I'm digging it too. Not my flavor though.

It's not the bags I don't like. It's the cut and paste job. I would LOVE to see a 1125r "kit" designed to attach matching bags and some sport touring type accessories.

I'd ride the hell out of that bike.

I'm hearing a lot of..
"Why isn't he an individual, just like the rest of us?"

to the naysayers.

I've got higher bars, lower pegs, and a detachable trunk (w/ backrest for wife) on my 1125R.
It did great on the 2800 mi. r/t to homecoming last year.
Also have a set of S3 large bags waiting for me to fab up mounts.
Works for me.

I've been wanting a Sport - Tourer since the demise of the S3. I've had hard bags on all my bikes since my S3-T. I put Buell hard bags on my M2, and both my X and XT had H&B Journey bags. I fabbed up mounts to put hard bags on my wife's Ss.
I applaud that guy's effort with the 1125. I hope he derives great pleasure and satisfaction from it.
However; I think that a factory designed Sport - Tourer would look better and more importantly, would function better than anything I could come up with in my garage. I've seen what Erik and the Elves can do. If they could design a minimalist Sport - tourer, I think it would be the Bomb. It wouldn't take a lot; a fairing that gives decent protection from the elements with the rider in a comfortable position (Similar to the S2-T), an all day seat and decent waterproof hard bags, combined with the handling I expect from a Buell. A bike that would be fun to tear through Lolo Pass on, but would also be comfortable for 800 mile days on the slab.
I honestly think it would sell well. I personally know two people who'd buy one in a heartbeat. And I bet there are a whole lot more.
Ever notice how many bikes have bags at Homecoming?

I'm in with this kind of program. I was thinking about buying a CR at 'blow out time' to do the same kind of thing.

Heck.....I did it to a Blast!

Good thing my Uly came with bags, or y'all would be ragging on me about that.

LOL that Blast has the widest ass I've ever seen. I'd light the rear of those bags up with LEDs and make 'em look like jet engines!

1125R dude's mods aren't my taste either, but mostly for the bags he chose. Some sportier ones would have done wonders for the styling.

Kudo's to the owner of this bike, he modified it to his needs. I would love to have some of these modifications on my CR. I think it would make a great long distance touring bike. I realize there is the Concourse 14 and FJR but I want to tour on the bike I own and love. By the way CCRIDER mounted a really good looking set of hard bags on his 1125R years ago. Good for the both of them.

That Blast came out awesome.

There is a guy on this board that during the 1125R dealer launch at Pocono had highway pegs on his Lightning.

I guess as long as he is into it, why not? However, I must say this is akin to stripping down a Goldwing and taking it to the track.

There was a Gold Wing entered in the Aspen 4 hour endurance race in 1976. It had remarkable acceleration, but it didn't corner quite so well. He made it 1/2 lap, then went down. Tore the cam cover off and dumped a gallon of oil on the track.
He started on the front row, so everybody behind him had one hell of a ride when they hit the oil. I think that at least half the field went down. I started well back, and when I got to the scene, the entire track was littered with crashed bikes. The amazing thing was that nobody was seriously hurt, and most of the racers got back into the race.

Wow, Crusty!

Fact: The original GoldWing was intended to be a musclebike, its direct competition was the Z1-900...

Do tell more.

Didja win?
