Attention: At 20:11 on April 19, 2011, Skynet achieved self-awareness. Two days later, on April 21, it will launch an attack on the human race. This day will be known as Judgement Day.

Fortunately, surplus Russian firearms and ammo have been dirt cheap over the last few years, probably because they over penetrate.

I'm thinkin 7.62x25 and 7.62x54R would be a couple of good starting points for a Mark 1 terminator.

Speaking of, I had the chance late last year to pick up a "New in cosmolene" 7.62x54 Mosin Nagant for $88 and didn't do it. Still kicking myself today.

April 21st is the final day reported, at least from the television series. I don't know if "Terminator: Salvation" changed that date or not.

PS: Don't forget... a good DOG is your best defense against the machines...

Well according to T2

he Skynet Funding Bill is passed. The system goes on-line August 4th, 1997. Human decisions are removed from strategic defense. Skynet begins to learn at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware at 2:14 a.m. Eastern time, August 29th. In a panic, they try to pull the plug.

this date/time came from 'the sarah conner chronicles'
So if the date is as reliable as the show was good.....I'd say it'll be an uneventful day

The Day After:

HOLY ****! Who's gonna pay all them BILLS???

Hybrid: I LOVED that show! You did have to watch every episode, as there was a definite story arc. Just a damned shame they pulled the plug so soon in favor of "Dollhouse." That show only lasted another year too.

I should've learned my lesson: SciFi and FOX just DON'T get along. EVERY damned time I get into a show on that channel, it gets cancelled ("House" being the only exception so far).

I'd say the same thing if I was in Skynet's position and wanted to cover my tracks for a little longer

what if the popular movies were underground warning messages sent back that were able to avoid the censorhip of print to let us know of impending doom, but layered in comedy or scifi so that the greys would not relize that we were indeed onto their presence and tactics?//// ie Firestarter, Et, Dream Scape, War Games, Terminator, They Live, The game, Logans Run, Doom, Jumper, Time Cop, Independence Day, 12 monkeys, fight club..... etc.

this brought to you by the tin foil group that forgot to take their meds last week

that forgot to take their meds last week

Don't go back to them, they are just a method for "the man" (a pseudonym. for Skynet) to keep you docile until the time is right.
I was at the grocery store last night and they were completely out of tin foil.....
I'm screwed.

Shakespeare was political commentary of his time. Roddenberry was reviving greek morality plays. In Dune Herbert used the SPICE as a euphamism for oil. Tolkein was on very long acid trip talk about depressing. City have you read War& Peace in the original russian yet? I have heard claims its even more depessing and soporific in Russian.

Could it be the mother ship is on the way ?

ugh war and peace in Russian is torturous - it is like grinding nails on a chalk board..... what it needs is its own face boook app so you can tell who is related to who, what their pet names are, what their histories are and why theyare at any one time no less than 10 subplots competing for your attention while you try and follow the conjugation to an elipsed object and a transliterated location!

it is of soap opera epic. This is what they did before television. Anna Karenina is much more workable; even Atlas Shrugged in Russian was work ..... I am no reading Harry Potter and the Sourcers Stone in Russian. It is refreshing light, no dictionaries, maps, or social diagrams required. And full of vocab that is actually still culturally relevant.

Applications out overseas. Damnit I want off this rock.

You have it backwards Jamie... the movies are funded and produced by the people doing the evil things, but made into comic book versions of the truth. They are inoculating us so when we hear the truth we dismiss it!

That way, if you do hear something or see something, you can't talk about it credibly, as you are just repeating a well known movie plot.

(just feeding the tinfoil hat crowd their daily dose of paranoia)
