WOW!
My Grandfather had a little house out back with a hole in the ground. No remote control, but he did have a spring on the door.
Now it's getting to the place I'm going to have to hire IT guys to ride around with my plumbers to fix things.
I used to feel for the mechanic trying to keep up with cars, now it's me!
We'll figure it all out as we go I guess.

the japanese love their auto toilets, that tech has been around for years, first time I have seen it all in one package though.

what is next... instant Youtubes posting for your most historic cr@p? Instant Kurac awards for size, shape, color and quality ?

I'm just creeped out by the fact that it's located in a completely glass-walled bathroom.

I am pretty sure that Kohler stole that a** centralization technology... they could have never come up with that themselves!

There is a glass made that goes translucent when you flip a switch - total privacy.

Yep, human beings can invent anything. It's important to ash whether they should, however.

That crapper is great until your power is out. And I have the feeling that it's not going in many homes where folks have backup generators to power their toilets.

It'll function fine as a normal toilet without power, just no fancy features.

We have a Bio-Bidet complete with remote, heated seat, deodorizing fan/filter, various heated bidet modes/sprays, heated dryer and various other useful features including remote control. It even has a couple energy saving modes where it remembers the time of your usual sit downs.

There's something really nice about not having to insert hand between cheeks and smear poo off yourself.

Live video from the bowl would be interesting. LOL.

I just sent a link to that Kohler video to Michele telling her that we need one. The Bio-Bidet works excellently, but it's goofy looking.

No worries. They have auto clean/rinse and the Kohler looks to have a water wiper/seal to eliminate even water spots.

Tim,

Let's hope that day never comes! LOL.

I was sold on the bidet after visiting Japan for the first time some fifteen or so years ago. Hotel toilet had one. So much nicer than the traditional versions there and in the Middle East. Still nothing satisfies like a good wilderness deposit.

So true! I have had some very scenic views while depositing in the Sierra Nevada's.

here in North Carolina and else where in the deep south we have had a Bidet in use for quite a while. We call it a garden hose through the bathroom window. Kind of cold in the winter though!

Yeah! I didn't see any back-up toilet paper in there either. Also if the glass darkens when the lights are turned on, if the power goes out your double dipped! Everyone can see you sitting there, unable to clean up. Hope the power comes back on soon!

There is a great episode of According to Jim where he wants a huge stainless steel toilet. Not quite as refined that the Kohler unit is.

Every toilet I've ever used will not work when the power goes out either. Flush it once, bowl empties, and you better hope everything went down because it won't refill.

So why are you getting a divorce?
My husband goes into that bathroom, and I wont see him for hours, he loves that damn toilet more than me. he even carries the remote with him to prewarm it for an 'meeting'

purchase at your own risk.

Froggy, you need backup power to your well pump, or a solar pump with battery backup.

Or municipal water supply ; - )

I already have battery backups for my computers and servers, but I'll be damned if I am wasting valuable power on a water pump! : )
