My rambunctious American thorough bread (1125r) has a classy british stable mate. Only got to ride a few miles today, but was really fun in a completely different way than the Buell. 2011 Triumph Bonneville T-100.

I love the Bonnevilles. My last dealership I sold HD, Buell and Triumph. I would buy a Scrambler in a heartbeat. |

love Triumph's...from back in the mid 60's on(several friends in high school back then had Triumph's and BSA's).They were good platforms for flattrackers(Ceriani forks with either a Trackmaster or Rickman frame setup. There were others out as well)...ah the good ole fun days... |

I love the look of the Thruxton, but the riding position was too similar to the 1125r. I wanted something totally different, and I got it and love it. |

That is one B.E.A.-utiful bike. I often wish I had mine back and never got rid of it. I love my ULy, no doubt about it, but Bonnies are what bikes should be. Congrats, and enjoy the hell outta it. |

Nice bike Badlionsfan. Did you catch the Speed Channel last night? One hour tour of Bonneville buildups from scratch in the Triumph factory. Went from engine build to final assembly and everything in between. Interesting show. |

There was nice program about Triumph on Speed makers last night. Buddy has a Legend nice bike but after the fire P&A was a little tough. I ride with the Rotle guys Riders of the Lost Empire a Brit bike bunch cool guys Kinda like badweb the own and ride a diverse group of bikes. I want a Norton 850 Commando a good one is hard to find. |

On NetFlix there is an offbeat movie called "One Week" in which the guy has been told he has a remotely survivable form of cancer and only has a short time left. So while pondering his fate, he happens upon an old man with failing vision who is selling his gorgeous '73 Norton Commando. As you can imagine, the next hour of the movie describes his week on the road in which scene after scene is this beautiful bike putting through Canada heading west. Neat! |

It is hard to find a "good" Norton, at a good price. It isn't hard to make one. Mine is a peach. If you really want to do it, get the most unmolested one you can find (or a basket case if you're brave) and make it your own. They all pretty much have the same quirks/problems, which are well understood, and parts and expertise are readily available. I would be happy to share my hard-won knowledge. I've ridden all the major Brit bikes at one time or another and Commandos are by far the best. Only thing I liked nearly as well was the Trident. |

I was alerted about the show on speed last night by Triumph on their facebook post about it. It was mainly around the Thunderbird, but I thought their factory was very impressive and backed up what my dealer said regarding their quality standards which are among the highest in the biz. The seat is a love hate on style and feel. I love the way it looks, way more comfortable than any Buell seat I've sat on in the limited seat time I have so far. Others say they seats are uncomfortable and upgrade to one of the accessory seats from triumph (gel). |

love the way it looks, way more comfortable than any Buell seat I've sat on in the limited seat time I have so far. I too loved the Bonnie's seat, but it pales when compared to my Uly's. I don't have any "real" riding experience with other Buell seats. I've done Iron Butt rides on my stock tall Uly seat, and wouldn't hesitate an instant to do one a stock Bonnie seat. |

The other thing I like about the "iron board" seat is when riding solo I can sit all over the place on it. Should help with leg cramping on longer rides. |

Got 85 of the 500 break in miles in today. What a fun, easy bike to ride. Exhaust is way too quiet, that'll be mod #1. |

That'd be a good fit in your line up Dcc. Problem is just like the Bonnies the Scrams are just about impossible to find used. If you do find one used, they usually aren't a great deal over the cost of buying new. |

Thanks Court. They've always been the "other brand" I liked as far back as I can remember. This was clearly meant to be. First, I bring it home the same date 4/21 I took my first Buell (cityX) back in 07. Then the day I brought it home speed channel airs that special on triumph. Now I find out a former ELF is in charge, well, it's my destiny. |

You'll have a ball....... There hasn't been a "bad" bike made since Sears quit selling Allstate. I had, until about 2 years ago, BMW, Suzuki, Honda, Bmw, yamaha and a Kawasaki at the house ...... All fun in their own way. I'm down to a cowpoke Buells, a Suzuki and a couple Kawasakis. Yep ....... Greg started as CEO of Triumph of America a couple months ago. Very smart, very sharp. |

Good god that Norton gets me where I live! I promised myself to fix at least one of the broken bikes in my garage before I buy another! I have to get my XLH back together this year. |

I understand, Nate. I promised myself to use the time I have on my hands since becoming retired/unemployed to fix up all the broken bikes in my garage, then sell enough of them to make room for a KLR or a GS. The Norton was the easiest fix--all it needed was a coat of paint on the tank and a little sorting-out, so it's the first to go on the block. It's a sweet runner. Somebody that will ride it needs to buy it. rt |

I love my bonneville. It is a 2007 Bonneville Black with a few items. The mono Chromatic tank cover, the cafe racer seat, the rear grab bar, cafe racer motor fin bracket, etc. Runs great, starts first time everytime. Watch CAfe Racer on TV.....They are a series of great triumphs and other bikes in the cafe world. REX |

That is a spectacular looking Bonneville . . Triumph seems to be the one company that's been able to pull off a truly modern bike that remained faithful to the spirit of the one that shaped so many of our memories . . That bike just looks fun . . |
