well I'm here doing my trackdays and my Free Spirits belt tensioner snapped, AGAIN. This is the second time this has happened but this time it may cost me 2 days of track time. If ANYONE is in the area and has one or if someone can send me one, I would GREATLY appreciate it. My number is in the BRAN if someone wants to call me. I'll be more than happy to drive to pick one up. Thanks, Jim I called the HD/Buell dealership in NC and he stated that there isn't a belt tensioner bracket anywhere in this country. hooray for me. |

That sure sounds like it sucks. Sorry I'm unable to offer help, but was wondering if you would post a picture when you have a chance. I've considered doing that upgrade, but if you've had two of them break, I'm not sure there's much benefit. How much time was on these when they failed? |

I would buy that one in a second but I don't know if I'd get it here at the track by tomorrow. I'll contact the seller and see if he'll overnight the parts for me. I'm only here today and tomorrow then it's back to Massachusetts. Is the 03 bracket the same as an 04? For some reason I'm thinking it's not. |

Is the 03 bracket the same as an 04? Great question. PM Zac4Mac as I think he works in HD parts and is a good source. I was thinking if you got really lucky maybe you could find a Buy it Now part close enough to drive....or maybe a local Bueller could go over and above to let you pull the part from their bike for the day? |

I have CitySlickers old stock tensioner here on my desk at my elbow (at work). He baked the bearings pretty good (a little crunchy and a little play), and it has some pretty good nicks, but I think if lubed it up between sessions it would make it through a track day or two easy. Any way to get it from Dayton / Lebanon Ohio, out to VIR, in time? I think it's off an 06 XB9SX. I can see I-75 from my window... somebody passing through wave if they are headed that way! |

There's one listed on CL: Reply to: sale-ewgte-2325938252@craigslist.org Belt Tensioner Pulley off a low mileage 2003 Buell Firebolt XB9R that was parted out. Pretty sure it fits all the firebolts and lightning models. ( XB9R, XB12R, XB9S, XB12S, etc.) and maybe others too. Asking $20 or best offer! 717 495 9176 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting 717 495 9176 end_of_the_skype_highlighting York, PA |

Jim I can pull the stock one off my 06 and send it out express mail. I'm sorry I didn't see this sooner, I just got home from a trackday, and would be absoutley pissed to miss it due to something like this. |

Thanks the Hammer for bailing my ass out again in a pinch. Thanks man!!! Had the part at the track by 9:30am and was back out on the track by 10. Thanks to all that offered to help, I was desperate and I was hoping Badweb could come through for me. I've seen some cool stuff happen here and this is no different. Hammer I'll be sending this part back as soon as I get another one. I'll post some video of some of my salvaged day at VIR as soon as I can. |

Hi Jim, If you have a Free Spirits belt tensioner please send me pictures of the damage, when you bought it and from who, and what happened to it. We have been selling these since 2003 and I have never seen one 'snap' before. If as you say this is the second time it has happened, how did you fix it last time? Was it replaced or repaired locally? Please pm me so we can sort this out. It won't get you on track tomorrow but we may be able to replace the broken part. Regards Matt |
