It's kind of like a viral infection. I started with one and bought another for (myself) my wife a year later. All I can think about now is getting a Uly and riding the snot out of it. |

As a long time Harley rider I started looking at Buells in the mid 90's. Owned several hotrodded Sportsters and FXR's. Almost bought an S3 in 1998, test rode a Cyclone at Daytona Bike week in 1999 and bought a 1999 Cyclone in 2000. Rode the SNOT out of that bike for 10 years, the fine people on this forum providing me with tons of information on service and repairs. Traded it in on a new 2009 Ulysses. I'm even happier now. Thanks Erik. |

In 1995, I test rode a Caribbean Blue S2 during a Demo day at Cycle Craft in Everett, MA. I deemed it to be an O.K. bike, and I started thinking about getting one. Then, in '96, I went to Daytona Bike Week and test rode an S2-T and fell in love. It felt like that bike had been designed specifically for me. It just felt right. The ergos were perfect. But I couldn't afford to get one at that time. It took me two more years, but I finally bought my first Buell in 1998; an Amazon Green S3-T. I was unable to walk, due to an injury, but my ankle didn't keep me from riding. I rode that bike the way a Sport-Tourer should be ridden. That bike saw more of the eastern U.S. and some of Canada. I traded it in on a 2000 M2 which I put S3 saddlebags and handlebars on, and rode that for five and a half years. I then bought my 2006 Ulysses in December of 2005, and rode it happily until the factory released the XT in 2008. I had to get one, as I'd been, um, quite vociferous in letting Erik (and anybody else who'd listen) know that I wanted a Sport Tourer. In 2000, I started dating (and eventually married) a woman who had always wanted to ride a motorcycle, but had never had the chance. She took the MSF course, and we soon got her a 2001 Blast in November of 2000. She rode that bike for three years, and then moved on to a bigger bike, which was totaled when she was hit from behind at a red light. After she recovered from the accident, I bought her another Blast (a 2003), so she could rebuild her confidence. She then moved up until she bought her present 2008 Lightning Long. We kept the Blast, and our daughter rides it. OH; I STILL want to see another Sport Tourer! |

I found a Buell in an hd shop in 08. They forced me to test ride it. I Didn't know what one was. 08XT came home with me the next day. I've got about 20,000 miles on it now. |

I'm glad I'm not the only one that remembers the Taco Bell ad. I picked up my '96 S2 14 years ago, next month, I guess I'm a noob as well. I did buy a pair of Dymags from Erik when he was Pittsburgh Performance though. I think that was '85 or '86 |

Almost 17 years. Bought a '95 Caribbean Blue S2 in November of '94 from Hals, that was my first bike and still have it. Added a '99 S3T in '01 and a '06 Uly in '07. Still have all and probably always will. |

I'm such a noob. I've only been riding Buells for eight years. Bought my first bike, a Blast, in February of 2003. About a year later, I traded it in for an '03 Firebolt 9R. That 'Bolt only lasted for three weeks when I was rear-ended on the freeway by a presumably drunk driver (no one stopped, so we don't know who it was) May 11th of 2004. A year and a half later in September of 2005 when I could ride again, I bought a 2004 9R. Still have that one. In 2009 we bought a 2002 Blast for the wife. She has a bad shoulder, so she couldn't lift it if it tipped, so we got her a CT70 clone that she loves. The Blast was passed of to me, and I started to change things here and there. She has a couple employees who are fighting over the chance to buy the Blast, so I'll be back down to one Buell (for now, wouldn't mind an XT with the low seat). Aug 2000 for me. 11 years. The mighty M2 Cyclone was the first...(guess what color) Then came the 95 S2, then the 96 S2, then the 06 Uly... Oops, forgot the 2000 Blast. I sure wish I owned all the Buells that have made their way to the Crisis Center (my garage). WAY too many to count. Brad (Message edited by bluzm2 on April 18, 2011) |

Ewwww - Court got ranked! – lol Well, Court has more Buell Service Manuals than the Buell Archives. The question of the day is: How many Buells has Court owned? I know of four but the number has to be higher than that….. |

It will be 8 year this June I flip my ZRX120R backwards doing a wheelie...You know they say everything happens for a reason and before I was even off crutches I bought my first Buell a 98' S1 Lightning molten orange and nuke blue I strapped my crutches to the front of it and went to Bike Night that summer on a walking cast. Then in 2006 I bought an X1 same color scheme and now own a Firebolt XB12R. Next in line is a 1190 of some kind when Erik starts building more affordable models $40,000 is a little steep for me. |

Wow, you all are making an old guy feel young. My first ride on a Buell was in November of '04, the dealer had a freshly traded '03 Lightning nine. I didn't make it out the door without signing for my first Buell, an '05 City-X in Hero Blue. Then a couple of months later I bought what has become 'Blastulys' and then the Uly. If I could find a bike I like better I probably would have bought it buy now, but..... Iff'in I can add right, this coming November will be seven years for me. But, I did not find BadWeB until I got my '06 Uly in June of '06. So when does one's actual life on a Buell really start? Is it at the inception of the first purchase? Or perhaps when introduced to BadWeB? Kind of like being born on the purchase date and being baptized on your first BadWeB posting date. |
