Gloves, like condoms and helmets, belong on the "never scrimp on" list in life. Yea. You can get scrapies & hurties if your not protected there. Glad your alright and at home. |

Carol I have a helmet that looks a lot like yours. AGGATT works. P.S. I had my gloves on. |

What I did wrong. 1. My hands would not be torn up had I been wearing gloves! Lesson learned! (the hard way). 2. 30 minutes earlier I thought about asking Jerry to stop for a break because I was tired. I was fatigued and I know better than to ride that way! 3. What in the crud was I doing right behind behind Jerry instead of staggered. all 3 of the above items I will just call my Dumb, Dumber, and Dumbest! Upside is I learned from all of them. The things I did right. My Buell Leather jacket (may it rest in peace). They cut it off me. But it did the trick! kevlar pants. just got new ones for the trip and they did awesome. I just have 2 itty-bitty spots on my right knee where eventually it started to rub through. but sliding 200ft at 70mph they did fantastic! and my helmet! I have no doubt it saved my life for sure. it was the kind that flipped up for easier communication. I'm gonna get another just like it. thanks everyone for the kind words and well wishes! I truly believe it's a miracle I am alive to write this. Jerry is out now checking damage to his bike. He is taking such good care of me! |

Sorry to hear about the get off. Glad you both are doing as well as you are. Good to see the flip up helmet didn't flip up. I have avoided them because I wasn't sure how they would do if put to the test, but I'd say 70 mph right on the front of the helmet is a pretty good test. |

I am so glad you are ok, Carol. We missed you this weekend, but the important thing is that you are healing and still among the living. I was thinking about you today when I was hammering down the highway... hopefully we will see you down here soon. Char |
