Wow, I'm digging pretty deep for this one: This is a high-quality 11" x 15" piece I produced in late '96 of the very first PacBOG (Pacific Northwest Buell Owners Group) ride, which culminated at Seattle International Raceway. Top photo left to right: Bryan Martin, Jeremy Ricker, Gentleman Jim Attebery, Ferris Bueller, Scott Moon, John E. Armstrong (Moon's mechanic), Rob Wilson, Chris Harris, Don Wilson, and Bob "Buell" Fullerton. We were there to root on our hero, "Dr." Scott Moon, and his honkin' Buell Lightning. The top photo was taken with us (ALL the Buell owners in the Northwest at that time) splayed out oh-so-symmetrically on the starting line of the dragstrip at SIR and my camera sitting a hundred yards down-track being piloted by the daughter of one of the fellas on the ride. "OK Natalie, push the button NOW!" Say, don't you wish you could pull a wheelie on command like Scott Moon?!? That's photog Natalie on the left, with dad Bob and brother Jesse, posing in the pits at the track. We caused quite a stir at SIR that day. So much so that Scott Miller from Buell and Reg Kittrelle from Thunder Press and Battle 2win contacted me to see if PacBOG wanted to co-produce a Blue Groove event in the Pacific Northwest the following year. Like....YEAH! Does that photo look familiar? The gig grew so fast so quickly (we had 120 registered entrants from five states and two countries, plus Erik, Court, Fran Crane, Trev Deeley, the demo fleet and BattleTrax), that we almost ran out of room for Hooligans. Almost... We actually ended up making a two-and-a-half day deal outta this deal and had not one, but two Adventure Rides with Erik, one of them up to the rim of the crater at Mount St. Helens. The spin-off to that ride - SPLASH - has taken place every July since. (Interested? Here ya go: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/37/ 612332.html?1301592903) We grew, in part, 'cause some gonzo-journo by the name of Court Canfield helped Fuell the proverbial flames. Sheesh, can you imagine being called a bonk-job by a guy like Court?!? This a little bit of history that a lot of folks on BadWeB prolly don't even remember. I offer it up here to see if me 'n D can raise a few extra bucks for Jim and Tonya Rainey. If not, I'll store it all away for another decade or so. This is a no-reserve auction with 100% of the winning bid forwarded to Jim and Tonya to help them cover medical bills, etc. I'll cover the shipping and handling. I'll let y'all decide what this crapola is worth, but please dig deep, peeps - this is for a very good cause. Auction ends Tuesday 4/19/2011 at 11 p.m. Eastern Time, i.e., BadWeB time. Thanks for looking! (Message edited by jerry_haughton on April 15, 2011) |

I remember those days well even though I wasn't there. I was searching for an S2 in an area of the country where there weren't many dealerships. I was working at the Cycle Shop at the time and picked up this copy of Thunder Press to further stoke the fires. Months later I settled for an S3 and got a copy of a new magazine called Battle 2Win with the new Buell. In it were contacts for all the start-up Buell groups. I remember waiting between coats of paint one evening and calling this cat named Ferris to see about joining PACBOG. I had no clue what I was getting into. $25.00 bid. |

Folks, I'm gonna sweeten the pot a little bit: Also included in this auction is a pristine copy of Battle 2win magazine, Volume 1, Issue 2, dated Winter 1996: This is the next to last copy of this mag in my collection, and it is absolutely perfect. I'm including it because it kinda puts the exclamation point, IMO, on the birth of the Pacific Northwest Buell Owners Group: I was pretty stoked to be published in Battle 2win (in the second issue, no less), and, of course, to get such an amazing opportunity to publicize our group. Folks, this three-part package is being offered-up for a good cause, fellow Buellers who could use a bit of a hand right now. 100% of the winning bid amount will be forwarded to Jim and Tonya Rainey to help them cover medical expenses, etc. I'll make y'all one last deal: To the winning bidder, for an additional $5 I'll autograph the mag for you, and for an additional $10 I will NOT autograph the mag for you... Rock on, BadWeB!! FB |

I've half a notion to offer up a written and signed copy of the story of what it took to get that Ducati and those Buells in that photo. The Ducati that was sent from NJ . . . well, had an "adventure". The Buell, that was to come from Bartels, had an "adventure". I'll leave it up to you to figure out how Lorenzo Lamas played a role in resolving the problems. |

Well, shucks. I wasn't paying attention and let this one slip through my hands. ARRRGH! Hey Matt & Alex, our owner's daughter is autistic. Maybe one of these days we could apply our good karma to this cause. Just thinkin' out loud. |
