Grumpster, not sure how it's done across the Pond, but over here it'll be noted on your issuing state's drivers license if you're an organ donor. My license here in Virginia has a bright red heart and "ORGAN DONOR" displayed prominently just above my photo, altho, looking at the photo just now, certainly no one would want my face... FB |

This pic was taken after Jim's attempt to keep up with Erik Buell. It was taken in the parking area of TWO with Erik looking on. At one point I believe Erik mentioned something about not being able to complete the repair without pulling the motor. Needless to say, the 3%ers pulled it of without pulling the motor!! If I remember correctly, Cameron of Stone Mountain H-D/Buell donated parts off one of SMHD's brand new bikes he had with him. I also recall at some point JIm was told to go eat. When he was done eating, his bike was nearly done being repaired!!! It was my firt Buell event ever and I was hooked!!! I was also the crazy guy from Florida, tent camping in 30 degree weather.

The wild thing about that broken rear isolator was that Jim had ridden the whole way back from the crash, a seriously twisty ~15 miles or so down 129, 19 and 60, without realizing it was broken. Later that afternoon Rubberdown and I were walking around looking at bikes at TWO and I noticed something didn't look right on U4euh's bike, bent down and then saw that the aluminum rear isolator had broken off around all four bolts on top of the engine. That must have been ~3 o'clock or so in the afternoon, and we had it fixed and put back together before midnight. I wonder who wound up with the blue XB12S shown above that we "borrowed" the isolator from? |

Just rolling in from a great visit with Jim! All things considered, he's in good spirits and looks great. We had some discussion about the living donor process and what life is for him until he receives a new kidney. We are all still praying for a donor and in the meantime we'd like to help Jim and Tonya financially. For those of you who have been in the hospital or had a family member in the hospital for an extended length of time, you know how expensive it can be. There is also the fact that Tonya is having to take time off from work and not getting a full paycheck. I'm going to post up the PayPal information at the top of this thread as we did for Matt Ware several years back. Prior also has a few things to put up for auction as well. If anyone would like to donate or offer up an item for auction, please feel free to do so. All monies will be given to Jim and Tonya to help lighten their load. Keep praying for a donor and if anyone is interested in information about kidney donation, please contact Ann Littz. Her number is at the top of this page. |

Jim, by his own admission, had an EXCELLENT day today - if he wasn't lying in a hospital bed, you'd never know what he's been through the past week. He wants you all to know how much he appreciates your love, prayers, and support. He'll be home Tuesday, and I reckon then he can tell you himself. FB&D |

Jim's holding up some moto-porn that Denise and I brought down for him. U4euh, thanks for an awesome visit. You are the MAN! |

WOW folks I am absolutley speechless. Most of see a fellow Bueller in need and we just do it, it what is right, without even a second thought. But when I am on the receiving end it really takes a different feeling. Last week started off with a relatively simple operation of taken out a bad transplanted kidney. Then straight to dialysis and straight south from that point and hit bottom on Friday. I have always said to live life like there is no tomorrow, it's not gauranteed. So regardless of my kidney failure I still raced around on bikes 11-or 12 of them. Then I bought a sexy little XB9 back 03. My life began to look upwards, I received a transplant 5 months later and was able to skip dialysis and really enjoy life. Along the way I met a crazy guy over @ Tilley's HD called Bubba aka Bukkinfubba. He turned me onto BWB. The story from that point is only one of earning new friends from all over the US. People who for the most part were kind and descent, and willing to answer any of my questions no matter how many times they had been asked. I have made friendships that rival family relationships that I have, no hesitations. I have witnessed folks bend over backwards to help me get rolling again, because of something that was my fault!(by the way it should be noted that New12r was leading Erik that day, I just got so far behind by a Hero-Zero type character that I had to jump to warp factor9 to catch up). I've stood in a room full of people to listen to the crazy story of a fellow Bueller's sudden decision to jump on his Uly and ride across the country. The flaming that happens is usually done out of fun and love, but sometimes necessary. All of this I could go on and on about but it all comes back around to this, YOU ALL are the best group of riders and friends that I have ever had the pleasure of breaking roads with. Simple surgery lead to a bloodclot in the leg, more days in the HSPtl. They stinted me and went to work in that and on Friday morning took the stint out and said it was good but they were going to keep me on Coumadein for 3 months. Friday night was my breaking point, I had had two Oxycotin, 2 IV shots of Moriphine, and 3 IV shots of Delotin, yea my head was a blur, but one thing was sure I was still hurting B A D. I thought for a moment this could be it. When the ER Surgeon heard how much I had been given and seen how much pain I was in, they rushed me into OR. Turns out the drain tube clotted and the flood was building up in my abdomen, 1 1/2 Liters in the space of a 12oz can to be exact. And it was infected. I woke up the next morning feeling 180% better than I was 24 HRS earlier. Then my buddies from the C3 crew show up with good eats, and great smiles. Cant tell you how much it means to have your friends visit you in the hospital, works wonders for the spirit. WONDERS!! Through all of this my wife has been struggling with whether or not to call out sick on this day or that day. She does have FMLA, but only keeps the job not the pay. So her and I were talking about things to do this morning but I had to go to dialysis. In Dialysis I cannot use my phone, I missed a call. When I got back to my room I checked my messeges, only one new. I had to listen to it 3 times before it sunk in: "Hey there, this is Erik Buell, .................................................. ...........Just wanted to wish you best wishes and a speedy recovery!" WOW!!! JUST PLAIN WOW!!! Ten minutes later they came in and removed my drain line and said that if my blood Levels showed at least a 1.8 coumedein level, I'd go home tomorrow. What better of a day can a guy have? Thank you! Each and every one of you for bumping into me and changing my life forever. Without you and the support and love of my beautiful wife, I could never be where I am. I am left speechless, just speechless. So if I see you in person and don't talk much, it's not because of negetivity, it's because anything I can say will not compare to the hugeness of your hearts! JIM} Thanks Kristi and Court, that really put the icing on a wonderful day. |

Now for the funny part of the story. Wonderful wondeful Denise baked me a big batch of brownies, which everyone who ate loved! After the crew had all left, I was a lying there in bed, I decided a couple of brownies and a small carton of milk would be great. The nurse was kind enough to heat up my brownies, and look for the coldest carton of milk they had. I sat ther enjoying every single crumbly little bite washing it down with some ice cold milk. Fast forward to today after they took my drain out. I knew I had to get up and walk to keep my legs circulating and the nurse assisted me getting up. She helps me out of the bed and shouts MR. RAINEY! How come you didn't tell us you had a bowel movemnet. HUH WHAT, confused look cause I haven't gone in quite a few days!!! Look back at the bed and right where the imprint of rear end was, was melted chocolate brownie crumbs that had been gound into the white linen. She almost had to put me on the bed when I started laughing because it hurt my staples in my abdomen! |

What better of a day can a guy have? Said the man from his hospital bed! Wow! Stuff like that is so good to hear. I think you've got this battle whupped! More to come, I'm sure, but you've got your head looking the right direction. BadWeB is an inspirational place just full of inspiring folks, you and all those folks hanging out with you have sure perked me up! I hate you missed Erik's call (I KNOW you do), but man! what a voice mail to find! Denise (extreme brownie builder) is going to enjoy that brownie tale! I doubt they've been confused with..........that! I'll still have you on my list! Rotzaruck!

There will be at least one more funny tale come from this . . . Erik called once before . . at least he TRIED to . . at our age . . who knows what went amiss. But I'm laughing wondering if out there somewhere some poor Buell rider with a number real close to yours got a message . . "Hey, this is Erik . . hope you recover quickly" and is wondering what the hell is going on. It's great to hear the positive news . . never fails to amaze me what some folks will do to get D to make brownies! Now . . get a handle on this thing and let's get you out riding. All the best, Court |
