We have up for auction to benefit Jim Rainey this ultra rare collection of garage decorations from the 2000, 2001 & 2002 seasons of Team Elves at Bonneville. The bike configuration we ran at the first three events was the stock RR1000 set-up with some minor changes to the bodywork and skillful engine building and tuning. The bike was number 50 of 50. We did things at Bonneville on a 13 year old Buell that most people never get to do in a lifetime of trying... we set records. Six of them the first year as a matter of fact. The bike was originally built out of love and passion in a barn in East Troy in 1987. Thirteen years later a rag-tag band of internet Buellers breathed life into the notion we could set records. Several of us spent long hours in our own barns and offices pouring a lot of love and passion into an idea and a bike. The team members adopted the nickname of the original elves that first produced the bike and became Team Elves. The rest as they say is history. But history enough to still have records standing, be covered in almost every major motorcycle publication and featured on the Official Buell 20th Anniversary poster. Items included in this collection are: 1 - Official Team Elves Poster from 2000. It measures 11" X 17" and is numbered # 82 of 100. It is in perfect condition except for one minor edge crease that would be covered with matting and framing. 1 - USFRA World of Speed Poster from 2002. It measures 17" X 23" and features the Team Elves Buell from the 2000 season during our debut on the famed Salt Flats. This poster is absolutely perfect. 2 - USFRA Official Record Certificates covering the 2001 season at Bonneville. These are originals that team members could purchase after the event. These records are in "near perfect" condition. I say that because the paper they are printed on has some character/slight waffling but that's the way they were shipped to me. 1 - USFRA Official Land Speed Trophy from 2001. The trophy is made of curved tempered glass, measures 7" X 9" and is etched from the backside. It lists both records set in 2001 under the name of Team Elves, rider; Richard Nallin. This is an official trophy that could be purchased by team members after the event. I only know of a handful of these that were ever ordered. This trophy is in perfect condition. 1 - Set of Land Speed Racing collector cards from 2003. This is a very rare set of 20 cards issued by LandRacing.com and measure 2-1/2" X 3-1/2". The set features cars, motorcycles and streamliners and has a short description of the team, the vehicle and the pilot on the back of each one. Number 13 out of 20 features Richard waiting in line during the 2000 season. This set is absolutely perfect.
This would make the ultimate garage collection for the Buell, Tuber or Team Elves enthusiast either one. You'll NEVER find a grouping like this again, EVER! There is some sentimental attachment to these items. Not just because I was there but the fact I had bought most of this stuff for Dad for Christmas in 2001. Most of you know I hauled these back home 5 months later. I've got duplicates of these but I only have one garage and it's full. This is a bid HIGH auction. These are rare items and are going to a very deserving cause. Shipping is free. Auction ends 04/18/11 at 10:00 pm EDT . Items can be picked up in person at our home, Big Jim's Ride or Homecoming. Hell, I can even meet you halfway as long as it's within 4 - 500 miles. Do you really want this stuff curled up and shipped? If so, we can do that too. DISCLAIMER! I reserve the right to add items to this auction at any time if I find other duplicates, that I just haven't found... yet. (Message edited by jb2 on April 12, 2011) |

ADDED TO AUCTION!!! 2- Team Elves Patches. The top one is the 2001 version and the lower is 2002. Both are brand new.
I knew there were more duplicates in my collection. Who here remembers patch fines? I do. I earned these the hard way. |

>>> I do. I earned these the hard way. Your smart mouth got you in trouble . . don't let it happen again. I'll toss a Team Elves shirt (there's a spattering of sizes and styles . . but I'll find something) in for the winner of this auction. This is REALLY RARE stuff that most tuber folks would spend a good deal of time scouring the Internet to find. . . seeing it all in one package is very cool. Well done! |

Paul, you were one of the guys I thought of when I listed the items. I have many photos of the pits and in several of those you're observing the work going on under the tent. Good to see someone with a connection to the events have a chance to get the stuff. I doubt that we'll be crossing paths anytime soon and since you're on the left coast I will pack the items with extreme care for shipping should you win them! |

JB2, Actually I'm in Minnesota now. Was in Illinois at the time tho. My guess is that someone else will snipe this as I am not very good on e-Bay stuff. |

Madduck, Great thing is it ain't eBay and second, I think this collection hits a niche crowd. To be honest it has already exceeded expectations so that's even better. Minnesota is driving material from here! Good luck! |

Cool collection Jb2! While visiting Jim this past weekend, we talking about when Ferris rode Madduck's new Uly cross country! I was new to BWB back then and thought to myself "like who's gonna give this guy a new bike to ride cross country"...little did I know! I loved following that thread. Shortly after that M2nc had to have his own Uly. |

Thanks Kristi! I won't ever forget the day I lost my pop or the outpouring of love and friendship that followed here on BWB. I can't always throw my name in the hat but I always help out when I can. Jim Rainey's situation tugged at me just a little you might say. FB1, thanks for tending to my auction. I only have time to play when I'm at work and don't get here much in the evening. |

Man do I remember those days. I still have the first Pegasus patch on my Aerostich... The other one is in the desk drawer. Hmmm, I've got one on a Team Elves pit shirt too! |

Jb2, Kristi should have my check Friday. My best guess would be to wrap it up as best you can and ship it. My life got a little hectic when I added a farm to my schedule. 1.5 years to retirement tho. Thaks again for parting with this booty. Paul |
