Thomas, I do not have many Buell patches left, but I can throw in one of my few remaining Ride Across North America patches for $10 (edit)... These were sold to benefit a friend of mine with brain cancer when I rode across the continent on my M2 back in 2004.  Matt Ware and Alex Prior, early 2004 Thomas: Please PM me your snailing address and I'll send you a "Matt Ware Rides With Me" patch. Matt died several years ago from brain cancer, but only after putting up the good fight for three years and living each day to its fullest. We (BadWeB) were a part of his journey, and when he passed we raised $11,000 to help his family with medical expenses from his treatment. I'll post-up a pic of the patch here in a bit. To expand a bit more, Matt was a good friend of mine in college (he was a class ahead of me). About a year before I graduated, and 91 days after Matt started his full time job as an engineer, he started having dizzy spells and siezures, and quickly learned that he had brain cancer. A month or so after his diagnosis, I decided I wanted to do something to help out the American Cancer Society and raise some money in Matt's name. I hung a post on Badweb with an idea for a cross country trip and the thing took off. We lost Matt in May of 2007, and the Badweb community came together to help support his family in their time of need. Matt's experience in life touched many of us, and that is how I've come to know so many great people, through Matt and Buells. It is a very cool thing, and an awesome family. Alex | ||

Thomas, as promised, here's a pic of the "Matt Ware Rides With Me" patch that's coming your way:  I would've posted the photo last night, but Alex broke SmugMug!  There's a story (of course) behind the design of the patch, with quite a few BadWeB'rs involved in its creation, but at the center of it all is a Pegasus in flight with a "don't mess with me" attitude. Matt put up a good fight up to the very end; he battled hard for every extra day of life he got, and he (and his parents Mitch & Lori) were an inspiration to us all. Thanks again for helping out with such a great cause. As for needing more auction material, I'll let Kristi and Alex take the lead on that answering that question, but I sure appreciate your offer and, again, thank you for supporting Jim and Tonya. I believe that patch will be the pride of my collection! Matt sounds like some one I wish I had known. Our family has been through cancer, one and lost the battle. It feels very good to be able to help out! As far as helping out, de nada. | ||
