My girlfriend and I both have iPhones. Mine is synched to my computer, hers is synched to hers. Problem is, her computer took giant dump a couple months ago and she hasn't been able to synch or update since. I've done some reading but I can't figure out how to hook up her phone to my computer to get the firmware updates without replacing all of her content with my own. Does anyone know how to do this? |

hook it up and do a restore, it will ask if you want to backup. Back up and restore from said backup. worked for me |

Will that mess up anything with my own phone? |

It is confusing as heck. iTunes will recognize that her phone is not yours. In order to update it, she'll have to login via her apple id & pw. Then what Hammer said. She'll then be able to access new versions of her apps and the phone firmware. What's nice is that she can even copy apps from your library to here phone and vice versa, each app/song is allowed to be installed on up to five devices including computers. Not sure if she will be able to remove her broken computer as one of the devices recorded as containing her apps/tunes though. |

Get her an Android so she can do all of the above via 3G and/or wifi without being tied down to any single computer.
