I know they are a cult classic for Buellers and they aren't being made any more, but WOW! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Buell-Traction-Hand -Grips-NIB-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem20b810f0bbQ QitemZ140527071419QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAcces sories |

Traction grips were the worst grips made. They hurt my hands and make them cramp up up and apply uneven pressure to the palm. How anyone could find them comfortable is beyond me. |

I liked them a lot when I had them on my M2 but now I have some pro grip foam superbike grips and I love the hell out of those and would not change them for traction grips especially at $75. (Message edited by firebolt020283 on March 30, 2011) |

"Traction grips were the worst grips made." +1 Both my tubers came with them,I replaced them with stocker's. I did save them, one set is on the wife's yard cart. |

I have traction grips on my cityx and like them a lot. No cramping or uneven pressure for me. |

Well, if Traction grips are worth $75, what are the "Torque" grips that Buell tried to sell new for $70 worth?

People are not buying them for 75 (yesterday a pair went for 80) but to collect I would imagine. 20 years from now a NIB set of traction grips will pay for a nice vacation. lol. I hope I don't lose mine before then... I should take the ones of my bike too. I like them but wouldn't pay much for them. and I'm sure there's better ones out there. Mostly I liked the HD dealer showing me all the $100+ grips and then seeing the look on his face when I asked for the 19.95 Buell ones. |

Those are the motorcycle equivalent of Beenie Babies. People are buying them for stupid amounts of cash expecting that they will continue to appreciate in value. At some point in time, they will come to the conclusion that all they have is a stupid stuffed animal. It is the American Dream! Supply and Demand! |

How is it price gouging? The auction started at $1.00 people bid on them, the seller didn't ask for 75. And I gave a set to ezblast lqast xmas. I bet he didn't know it was an $80 gift lmao. I would like to find something just like the traction grips but skinnier. and hero blue,.. |

I liked the shape of Traction grips but the rubber compound was too hard for me. American Sport Bike sells these that are a very similar shape but much softer: http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/5662.html |

I have them and like them. I paid $16.95 + S/H from American Sport Bike in Sept. of '08. If I had to get new grips today, I'd look for a set of traction grips, but not for $75! I'm sure there are comparable alternatives out there... |

No price gouging...it's a friggin auction and the dolts that are bidding set the price! I LOVE my traction grips- comfy, form fitting, firm and they seem to last forever- a particular problem with cheap grips and Polly heaters in the bars. |

Love my tractions but I'd shop around before paying $75. Think I paid less than $20 for mine back in the day. They're alot better than the skinny stockers for sure. |

I used traction grips "back in the day" to support my local dealers... nice grips, but wore out too fast. Now I use those grips Al sells. Given the choice of either for the same $$, I'd choose Al's. They wear better. |

I liked the feel of my stock Buell grips better, but the Traction ones do look better. |

My lightning came with them...when they wear out, it's getting generic "dirtbike" grips... |

Interesting...too hard...too soft....love them......hate them. I like mine just fine. Got a set rat holed that I bought a year ago on "bay" for cheap......like $14.00! They will go on Suzie Q. The oldest set(on the XB9R) are starting rub away........kinda like a pencil eraser........so that set must be on the soft side. |

I've had traction grips on all of my Buells. They work good for me! Your results may vary... |

I'm a big fan of Traction Grips. I've used them on all four of my Buells and are far more comfortable than stock grips to me. I have large hands, maybe that has something to do with it? I have a fews sets in reserve but didn't know Al had an alternative, I may have to try them next time. |

I like mine on my Blast. Not sure what grips are on my XB9 but would definitely buy a set of traction grips from anyone willing to sell. Not at the $70 price though but willing to pay around $25. Bought my orig from American Sportbike for $16.95 |

There are other options, since the Traction grips, once a very reasonable mod, aren't stocked any more. http://avongrips.com/shop/products/SB-Rubber-Custo m-Contour-Open-End-Grips.html# |

I love mine on my S3. The "skin" is wearing off so it doesn't look like they'll last too much longer. I have smaller hands so the hand size isn't driving it. Somehow the stock grips seem a too small to fit the bike for me. I managed to stash a couple sets at the end but I always assumed there'd be another run at some point. Since they haven't I'll try some of the newer options first but I'm guessing that at some point they'll find a home on something I intend to keep for a long while. |
