My wife gets the nice new cars. She lets me get motorcycles and I keep some of the vehicles she leaves behind. My beater is '94 Dodge Dakota V8 with 300,000+ miles. When I want to travel in style I take the '96 Jeep Grand Cherokee, only has 150,000+. I would like to bring home a Lotus Exige though, just for me. |

The sad thing is that Ford / Mazda has developed a new Ranger that is now the same size as the Explore Sportrack (Tacoma sized). But Ford thinks it would hurt F150 sales. They have the wrong logic. They should look at the New Ranger has hurting Tacoma sales. This is old news - even before the "new" Ranger, there was an "old" Ranger that was the same size but still only sold outside of North America. It's really a shame. Instead of "a sale is a sale", they're worried about losing the fact that the F150 is the best selling truck in America. Why would you buy a Boss 302 (which I like as well as the Laguna Seca varianet) over a Cobra? The BOSS is much more of a race car than the Cobra is, and it costs less. However, it also has less power, the Laguna package lacks a back seat, the higher horsepower was gained at the expense of losing low-end grunt (which the 5.0L is a hair short on to begin with compared to the competition), and a generally less street friendly manner. In fact, many reviews think that the Cobra isn't even very street freindly, and the best bet is to get a regular GT and put some parts into that. |

>>>Read the specs Court.... 440hp Actually I did . . . and my question was why someone would buy "2nd Place" for $48,000 when another couple grand would get you the grand-daddy of all Mustangs? If I were, and I'm not, buying a strictly performance car, I guess it's just me but I'd not want the one that was advertised as "slotted in right behind it's big brother".

the big thing about the boss is that they wanted to build a car that had the best possible handling out of a street legal mustang. they proved it at laguna seca. its 7 seconds faster than the gt500 and a couple tenths faster than the audi r8, of course thats not on the track at the same time. but still a 40k american musclecar running even with a german mid-engine supercar, that seems a little impressive doesnt it? ill have to read the article again dont remember if the boss had the laguna package on it. p.s.You should check out the process used to make that aluminum handle the squeeze of the blower (Message edited by 01_turbowolf on April 15, 2011) |

Thats crazy numbers for the street. Its nearly the torque that a NASCAR "car" puts out... something like 540lbs of torque. Its down on top end hp by quite a bit (850hp or so for NASCAR) but that hp is a 9,000rpms. Who wants to run a car on the street at 9,000 rpms? Just bat poop crazy. |

Actually I did . . . and my question was why someone would buy "2nd Place Because for a few grand less the 0-60 times are .03 apart from from its big brother and qtr mile times are exact. Big kicker is that it 100 HP less and unlike its big brother its naturally aspirated. For couple grand more at FORDS goody store and put a super charger on it and I'd say it just may surpass its Brother. I guess its all in what ya see. Then again 4 bangers with Turbo's are doing these ET's and doing better at the pump.

Why settle for 2wd when for that price you could get a WRX STI and a whole lot of go fast parts. Heck, you could get 2 suspension set ups, one for track, and one for the dirt. |
