Hi guys i need a little help making an offer on a 2006 XB12R. i think it has less than 2,000 miles and a lot of carbon. race kit was dealer. installed. kelly blue book says from $3,175 tradein value and approx $4,600 retail. the problem is it belonged to a great friend, like a brother to me and don't want to insult the family. Any help making a decision would be greatly appreciated. |

What is your budget? What can you afford? Is the family in real need of cash, and how generous do you feel? Low miles, but what about the rest of the bike? Ever dropped, downed, etc. Anything broke off or broken and need of repair? Here is a link showing listings for 04-07 XB12R's, to give you an idea of what people are asking for them: http://motorcycle.jaxed.com/cgi-bin/mash.cgi?cat=m cy&fil=XB12r&itm=buell&state=&ps=&pe=&ys=2004&ye=2 007&so=d&submit=+GO+ You can also check ebay to see what they are actually going for. NADA Guidelines - What many insurance and bank companies use to base retail value:http://www.nadaguides.com/Motorcycles/2006/Buell/X B12R-FIREBOLT-1203cc/Standard-Equipment Ranges from $3843 - $5062 If the bike is near perfect a 9/10, and you can afford it, offer $4000 - $4200. If you can really afford it and the family is in need, pony up the $4600, and you will feel good about doing so. The race kit was around a $1000.00 I think. - And you can send the ECM to Erik Buell Racing and have it re-programed for $50-$70 Splitting the difference is always fair. If you want the bike, but money is a little tight offer 3700 - 3900. Anything under 3700 and your kinda stealing it, given the family relation. IMO |

$5000. sounds like a fair offer if the bike is in good running condition. |

$5000. Is still less than what others are asking for bikes with more miles and no race kit. And $5000 is fair, But not more than that. What people ask for is far different than what they usually end up selling something for. Although at 5000 your getting a bike at 50% retail when new, for a bike that basically is. But I got my 09 UlyXT with 28 miles on it for $7450, so I'm a bargan hunter... Good Luck! |
