I went to a Kawasaki demo ride yesterday because I wanted to ride the Concours 14 and Ninja 1000 to see what I was missing. I got to ride the Concours, but not the Ninja. The highlight of the day for me was seeing a couple of old bikes that people there for the demo rides came on. I don't know much about old BMWs, but I thought this bike was interesting. I also met a nice guy riding a 1986 Honda VFR 750. He told me he bought the bike new in 1988. He said he has had to put it in storage for long periods twice because of jobs out of the country. The last time for 15 years and he only recently got it back out of storage. He spent a bit of time telling me all the problems he had to fix even though he THOUGHT he had properly prepared the bike for storage. As a result of all the storage time it only has 2400 miles on it. That's right, a 25 year old bike with 2400 miles on it. Plus the Aerostich suit he was wearing is 15 years old. He admitted it hadn't been worn much in that time, but I was still impressed that it looked new as well. He was a nice guy and very knowledgeable about the history of the VFRs. |

Wow. Great pics!! Old Airheads and japstuff prior to the late 80's, I really enjoy. Jap bikes after 1993, DILLIGAF. I'm still looking for a decent Yamaha GTS 1000... Not to mention my old RZ350... |
