Cycle Gear? I've not seen the brand but their current catalog is full of new products from them (Bilt). How's it? You'll have to let us know how it holds up, por favor. |

I was going to say the EXACT same stuff I got that catalog and thought 'jesus, did this company buy CG or something?' Over half the catalog was this brand I'd never heard of before. |

feels great and for $53.99 I don't care if it falls apart at the end of the season.I will say this it is DOT approved not scnell I didn't know that I don't race so I don't care but if you want to track it could be a problem. |

talking with one of the guys at cycle gear last weekend, he was telling me that BILT is the result of Frank Thomas and another riding apparel company joining. I can't remember the name of the other company though. (dang sometimers!) I bought a pair of BILT gloves that day, and they are pretty comfortable and look like they will hold up pretty well. I'm curious as to how noisy those helmets are... Brumbear, can you post your thoughts after putting some miles on that helmet? B |

In the interest of full disclosure, I work at the Cycle Gear Store Support Center (Corporate Offices) in California, but I was a Badwebber first Several of the Bilt helmets do run large. I wear a large in Shoei and Arai. The Bilt medium full-face helmets fit me fine. I am going to start wearing one on my daily commute as of later this week. There are some reviews coming in and are posted on the Cycle Gear site. It is a new exclusive brand, so of course it will take some time before there are a lot of reviews posted. The feedback has been good and these helmets are an excellent value. I'll be putting my own noggin in one. I work on the website, and administer the Cycle Gear Facebook account (stop by and say hi!) I also work in the same area as the call center that takes all the Cycle Gear phone orders. There are samples of the helmets, boots and all our exclusive Bilt and Sedici gear there for the call center folks to get their hands on. I'm happy to check things out and take close up pics if anyone has a specific question. Just send me a note. -Christine |

I picked up the bilt modular about a week ago it's the solar model that's on sale for $99 so far it's great. Metal latches and hinges not to noisy especially with headphones. I am a fan so far |

Talked to a sales guy at CG last week. He told me that the people who make the outer skin for the Bilt helmets are the same people who make the outer skins for HJC. If that's the case, they should be fine. I'm thinking hard about the deal they have on modulars. They're on sale until the end of the month for $99. |

I checked out most of the products while I was there. The gloves "gauntlet style" are virtully the same as my Frank Thomas's. The boots looked pretty good I didn't see any shoddy stiching or anything. They didn't have much mesh stuff out yet. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the leather pant they had on sale. The pant had no armor just leather but they have the apperance in the catalog like they had padding. but sedici which is a little more money were better. |

If you are talking about the Bilt Spirit Leather Pant, they do indeed have CE Approved armor at the knee. http://www.cyclegear.com/spgm.cfm?L1=&L2=&L3=&L4=& item=TWL_BLL9-BZ-028_G |

Okay ran the new lid yesterday: Light nice fit noisy though , If I would have worn ear protection I will but didn't yesterday it would have been fine. The strap seems more toward the center of the helmet than I am used to but for $50 it was well worth it BTW the helmet ventilation is fairly good. |

It's not falling apart at the end of the season I'm concerned with....it's the falling apart in a crash. I hope it holds up well and protects yer noggin! |

Thanks it is DOT just not snell I think cause it's flammable? So I am hoping for the bestI like to change my helmet every year so I don't buy real expensive ones usually 1-2 hundred dollar range. This Helmet is usually $120 I think. |
