Just one ping Vasily, My grampa was riding all the way to 87; doctors finally pulled him off of it, when his last injury was not healing well, and his bone density wasnt up to par to hold up the goldwing anymore. |

the russian is horrible, and I must admit that we hand a hand in that. The linguist consultant for that film was one of ours; Jackson School UofW .... and the Russia House as well. I suppose Hollywood will always have a need for bad russian accents and stereotypes |

I thought the scottish russian accent was the prefect touch, it went right with Alec Baldwin playing Jack Ryan. Aaah the days of bad russian accents, the good ole 80's..... Red Dawn, Rambo II, any number of Ahnold movies. |

russian is much softer, closer to french; esp since Catherine the Great was educated in french; she admired their style and culture - and robbed from it liberally. Of course Marina has an accent that sends shivers, mmmm more of her. www.hotforwords.com |

French was the language of the Russian court before 1917. When taking an intensive German course over there many decades back, the teacher asked how I learned so many idioms and slang. I told her I had a "Schlafenes Wörterbuch," or sleeping dictionary for accelerated studies. She was not amused, but said something like, "Yes, this also works." Drinking with colleagues, drinking too much actually, a certified German-English-French-Russian translator told me I was the first American she'd ever heard speak German with a Norwegian accent. A few years on boats with Norwegian crews. Languages? Think of all the guys my age who learned Vietnamese in the services . . . GI Louie, numba' 10, same-same water buffalo! |

I would surrender I actually prefer her when she was brunette and natural; but I understand why she went blond; it is where the media hype is. I have been told I speak Russian with a georgian accent; apparently I drop my endings, chew my conjugations and drop colorful explitatives. .... and I can drink to their level. Rymki after rymki it is a 100 gm shot glass (3.5 oz) And I do love the Ukrainian women yooosh I am actually in the process of selling off all my stuff and headed overseas. Yes, including the Buell. |

the new girl wont ride on the back of the Buell, and I cant keep abusing it off road; I am headed to Ural, with sidecar - in orange. I happen to know a few local crazy Ivans that have been chiding me to join their ranks for years. and in this economy, it will be a wash, it will go for what I owe. If the single thumper 450 comes out in dirty or sumo; I will be back |

Congrats on making a command decision! Sounds like you got your shit together and sold it so that you can go to a new place and make more(shit piles). Good thing is the net thing reaches most places, so don't become a stranger. It has been fun following your adventures with your dirty Buell! |
