"But when the day comes for my best friend, I'm going to leave the decision entirely up to my vet. I don't think I could ever make the call on my own." Your dog knows you, Hopefully, you know your dog. I will look after my buddy, and depend on the vet to do what is required. Life, Death and taxes. |

>>> I'm going to leave the decision entirely up to my vet. A good/wise vet will never do that. The possibility of regret, guilt, anger, and recrimination by the customer is far too great. |

Squids, this thread has been difficult for me to read, filling me with a certain amount of anxiety, since my Eddie is only a little over a year old. I know the time will come when he is old and tired, but don't know how I will deal with it when his time comes. I have no consolation, only the hope that we will meet ALL our loved ones when we reach the other side. Basenji's are good dogs. Eddie eats t.p. and q-tips too. He and I popped (me) and shredded (him) bubble wrap until it was all gone tonight, he's got a scrap of it where he's sleeping now (I thought I'd found and thrown it all away). Good fun. Enjoy the good times. I hope posting this pic doesn't take from the thread:
