pwnzor's story is important. Its Not always about what you pay, but what you get when you need it. I had an accident and the settlement didn't leave me feeling like I was "In good hands". Progressive left me feeling just the opposite, Dropped bike on Saturday AM, nice check by the next Friday. And it was just like Flo in the commercials. Adjuster says "I Don't see many Buells", then "I don't see many Sidi boots, though I ride them myself". That started the whole conversation about adjusters being familiar with bikes etc.. Good experience in my book. For what its worth, Progressive and Allstate were about the same price for the same coverage in VT. |

In my experience it is cheaper getting quotes online. Some of the bigger companies offer discounts when ordering online, because it is less work for them. But to be safe you could compare quotes online, pick the best offer and try a local agency to see if they can match it or do better. I recommend this site for online comparing: http://www.quotes-center.com |

I've been with progressive from the start. When adding another bike, they gave me a discount..adding a third and they gave me a slight refund...so I added a four for an even lower rate. The last two bikes never see pavement and havn't been ridden at all in the last two years-not even registered! But I still get the cheap rates. I'd add the remaining three bikes but I don't want to be a pig about it. |

State Farm. We deal with insurance companies everyday. Geico and Progressive are some of the hardest to deal with, especially if you are a claimant. When you buy price that's what you're getting. On the other hand State Farm takes as good of care of the claimants as they do their insured in respects to the quality of parts and procedures. As always when buying insurance make sure you understand what you're getting for your premium in regards to injury liability and passengers. Each state has it's own rules and policies will vary from state to state. |

Just curious whether anyone is insuring both a 1125R and CR. Progressive quoted quite a bit higher for an "R" as it was considered a performance bike and the "CR" wasn't - weird. |

Yes all insurance companies do this. I'm spending $1500 a year on my 08R, $1000 a year on my 09CR, my 06XB and 03P3 are free now |

Just got my renewal offer from allstate today. They get more affordable every year, with this years total being $320 for our X, XT, 9SX, and the old K75. Haven't had a claim for the bikes, but have had fair dealings with an auto incident. |

USAA. Long story short, I was hit by an expedition and it was clearly NOT my fault. The cop stated dual fault, no tickets. USAA reviewed the police report and determined on their own that the other driver was at fault. No deductable required. As long as I continue to receive service like this, I will always use USAA. About $300 every 6 months, 23 year old. |

I've gone with State Farm after my accident on the Buell. I "was" covered through Dairyland....so I thought. My Bolt was legally my Father's, he bought it. Pops, at the time, was with Dairyland. We told them I'd be the primary rider and was told by a rep that I would be covered if anything was to happen. I paid the insurance every month since I rode it. We called the day I got hit and was told sorry about you're luck. "You weren't the registered owner so we're not liable to help." Needless to say we were all pissed because we were led to believe I would be covered. Then they wanted us to write a letter stating why we wanted to drop them. We told them where to stick the letter and had the bank block all transactions. Dairyland is a low ball ass bag of a company IMO. |

You are single? I might have to break off my engagement with Froggy! Dairyland pissed on me too... I had been a loyal customer for eight years with the M2, one claim, which was fire and was accidental... paid around 220 a year for that bike... Then a speeding ticket, lose my job and the credit score goes in the crapper... get a good job and buy the XB with cash... and they want 1200 a year??? WTF? No accidents on my record, and one claim in eight years? Then they said, oh, ok, we will insure both for 1200 a year. I still carry them but am giving them the boot when the policy expires in May. Brankin 1313, btw, sent me some good info on insurance in NC... not sure if it applies in Maryland, or wherever the f*** you are living tho... |

Another good thread- I do believe it helps to shop around AND if possible, know good people. Makes me think about the $$$ I'm probably wasting on my cel phone bill. |

Yeah, living in MD. I better be, I just bought my own damn house back to put it back under my name alone...but don't dump Froggy, he's a nice guy (although...I DO have an M2L in the garage.....lol) I had USAA for years, still do for auto/home/flood. They kept jacking the bike rates though, then started outsourcing them. At least in Maryland they do. Bag that. |

Joe, for homeowners in MD, check out Cincinnati Insurance Co. Find a local broker who works with them. They are an incredible service company if you ever have a problem, and they are a lot less than other companies we compared to them. They are regional, not national, so I think that helps them keep costs down. |
