Just want to show off the new ride. Believe it or not, this is a means to get out of debt faster, lol, and end up with something I want to own outright. Budget wasn't allowing for the new Mustang I was drooling over, but found this and couldn't pass it up. 2002 Camaro Z/28 SS with the 345hp SLP package with center exhaust, hurst shifter and chrome ZR-1 wheels, all from the factory. And get this... I picked it up with 6,850 miles on the odometer. She's cherry.

The car dealer I kinda sorta work for has a red one with the police practice and SLP bits, but I need something with a rear seat. I can't even fit my 7 year old back there! |

These things can be made to be 'stupid' fast. I never did understand how such a large car could have so little interior space. lol Nels |

Firebolt, were the front seats still in the car? PS- I think I have a white Hurst shifter knob hanging out in the garage. It's yours if I come across it making room for a new Aprilia |

Nice find, I'd sure like to have another. They've come a long way since my '81. Let me browse and see if I can find a pic on the puter... Ahhh, here it is. Picture was taken sometime around '99 or 2000

It just happens to be a white cue ball shifter from a 99 Cobra. I believe they're both t56's, so the threads should be the same. Let me see what I can dig up. |

Hey, Thump - I ended up buying a new Hurst short shift stick with a white ball shift knob as a package, so I'm all set. Forerunner - this car came with a lid and cat back from the factory, she moves pretty good as is. I think shocks, springs and sway bars will be the first big mod, but that's a ways down the line. After that I'll do headers and a cam and probably just leave it alone at that point. Kyrocket - Good looking 2nd gen - the early 2nd cars are my favorite. |

Added some touches - the factory sound system was seriously lacking in a few areas. Stock speakers and amp were okay, but the head unit was junk so I changed that and added a 450W RMS 10" Kicker sub woofer to get the bass going. I haven't replacedn a head unit since high school and never put a sub in a car - this thing makes me feel like a teenager!
Amp rack I built, totally hidden once the cover for the spare/jack is installed:
Home-made sub box - mdf face, the body is fiberglass. Took forever but worth it:
...and installed in the driver's side cubby space in the hatch:
And the new shift stick and ball for the factory hurst shifter:
