kind of hard to find some speed out of a 3 year old bike that had less HP then the latest and greatest 3 years ago when he is racing the latest and greatest for this year. maybe they can stick an 1190 in that bike and no one would know... |

On his quick lap the trap speed was right in there with the other guys though, I was surprised to see that.
He was mid-180's mph. |

Track temps have to be cold. The current temp there is 64 so as the track gets hotter the times will get better |

Currently is sitting in 16th.

so is buell the only twin running AMA this year? I do not see any ducs or ktms at all nor do I see any Aprilias either although they would be running a v4 instead of a twin. |

Only person who was on a Duc last year is now switched to Beemer - Pegram
Good observation though on the V's, I didnt notice that til you said something.
Curious what the mechanical problem is/was
Hopefully they get it sorted and he's able to put some decent numbers up (not knocking what he did today, just needs to cut some of that 5 seconds per lap gap)
Like said, he's down on power and thats a shame, but maybe he can catch em enough in th corners to not lose too much on the straights (and unfortunately daytona is over half straights)
Its just a practice, nice to look at numbers, but what will matter will be Qualifying and ultimately the race.

This was Qualifying round 1. (they were dealyed for rain earlier so they made it Q1.)

Schedule for tomorrow should be as planned. And if so, Q2 is scheduled for 10:35am |

Quite a few Ducs on the grid. Its going to be interesting how Zemke does. Zero sponsors,a crew made up of volenteers.Nothing on that bike but a number. |

well, I got called away & missed most of the SuperBike session.....
anyone have posted results?
back to The 200 - at mid-session, I'm blown away by the radar speeds -
IIRC they're on the flat backstraight, NOT on the banking
here are the traps [NOT lap times] of the key players so far:
Ducati ------171, 170, 168, 166
Kawasaki --- 173, 172
Yamaha ---- 170, 170, 164
Suzuki ----- 165, 164,163
BUELL ------ 158 --------------only 1 entry Go Pat Mooney!!
Triumph ---- 153 --------------only 1 entry
Honda ----- 152 --------------only 1 entry [wow....]
