Make you feel better by telling you our problems? This feels like a bitch fest after work at the bar, but with cool people... - We canned a guy last week, who was nice, but not getting the work done. His work load is being handled by everyone else in the office... my lunch came 2.5 hours late today. The benefit is that I only need to work 1.5 hours when I get back from lunch... I work at a great company, but somedays hate my job too as it's often negative confrontations. - I think I lost an opportunity to drive an Audi R8... - Laptop is broke, 98 Dodge Ram is bucking on take-off, I creamed my Honda about a month ago in the snow, clothes washer is broken, the gutters need cleaned, garage is slightly flooded halting the work on my Buell, my puppy is getting a new collar to help with his barking... The babysitter's car popped a brake line in my driveway and I'm an ASE certified tech made less than I pay her an hour to replumb the lines from the master cylinder back. She made it 2.5 miles and heard a popping noise, then called me. I feared the worst and found that a coil spring broke from a previous repair someone else did on the car. I inherited that fix and I noticed that the car pulls to the right when stopping and the passenger wheel is scorching hot, so I get to replace the caliper too. -The tax return got delayed. Awesome. -The snowblower that I fixed earlier this winter locked up last snow storm, removed the plug and can't turn the motor with a 2' breaker bar. -We had a decent weather day yesterday and I spent 2 hours detailing the 2010 Journey to find 3 deep (to primer) scratches and a crack in the paint on the bumper. I found melted Skittles in the storage compartment. I told my wife no more candy in the car unless she wants to clean it, she laughed at me. -I think I just got volunteered to cutout 16 pinewood derby cars for the BoyScout pack that I'm the leader of. -My back has been hurting for 2 weeks causing me to miss some sleep and Systema classes. All in all I'm thankful that my dad's colon polyps turned out to be non-cancerous, everyone else is in good health, summer is almost here too. |

Good News> my wife just got back from a week in Mexico (work) and she was three kinds of rev'ed up when she got home. just picked up a 2007 F150, and it's AWESOME. a couple months ago, M found my old best buddy from tech school. he's living in the Rockies. i'm going to load up the Buell (hence the truck) and go riding in the mountains for a week or two. went ice fishing over the weekend, and caught enough walleye to have an excellent dinner monday night. my wife's lap dog (a 70lb pit) is starting to calm down a bit. she's rather excitable, even more so if you happen to be a squirrel. bad news abounds in my life as well, but i'm officially ignoring it until this weekend, or the sh!t hits the fan, whichever comes first. |

Crusty, big time. Unreal what's going on there, even in Hawaii and the west coast. I'm glad to hear that, all things considered, casualties seem to minimal. I have some good news to share as well - through some scrimping, saving, selling and finding over $200 in change in my coin jar, my first credit card will just about paid off this week. Onto numero dos. |

Here's good news... I gave my notice at work today for a job developing performance parts for Audis, Porsches, Beamers, Benzs and VWs... Oh my! The company cars include an RS4, an R8, and a Cayenne, that I know of. We have a 4 wheel dyno... It pays more, but the drive is longer through country roads... |

Mark, when are you coming back to the Rockies???? God, I hope I can get back out that way this year. I have the vacation time from work, it will just be making sure I can afford to travel and all the things that go with it. I'd say likely later in the summer Aug/Sept if I can swing it. It should be a cheaper trip this time around as I won't be flying back and shipping the bike home. When do the roads up Pike's Peak and mt. Evans usually close? |
