There plenty of times I get pissed-off at people in cars that cut me off or don't pay attention. I try to avoid tailgating anyone but it's a bad idea to tailgate the one that is driving like an idiot in the first place. Then to blast a siren in his ear? The MC cop needs judgment training along with this new lesson he just learned about operation of the siren and tailgating. But to try to place Felony assault charges on the guy! Come on. Man up. |

I live in Redondo Beach and the story is that their trying to charge the driver with something, but apparently it was the officer's fault. |

Sorry to hear that he's having "intimacy problems" with his wife. That gives new meaning to the phrase "soft tissue injuries"... |

and they wonder why there is a lack of respect and trust. I was raised to believe that the police and the fbi were to be trusted I dropped that silly notion a long time ago |

"The assault has caused me some intimacy problems with my spouse," he wrote at the end of his report. He did not respond to several calls from L.A. Weekly seeking comment. I just think the cop's wife can't stand to have sex with him. Tends to happen when your spouse looses all respect for you. |

His intimacy problems likely stem from his wife's incessant laughter at his penis. |

" Ohhhhh boy.... let's not get me started on cops here..... deep breath... step away from the keyboard...."...substitute cops for blacks or any other minority...are there bad cops, yes...but the majority of law enforecement are out there doing a job that most would cringe from, and its thankless, but needs to be done, to keep us all safe and sound...but we post up on the abberations, and generalize because we got a speeding ticket or whatever...but reality is most coppers, are decent, honest individuals, that make are lives safer, by never even knowing there there. |

reducati, if you flip-flop your percentages of the good cop-bad cop ratio, you might be close. they get paid well for the stuff they have to deal with and it's their chosen profession. let's not forget they are also in for a nice pension when they are done, which is destroying our City budgets. |

BTW--Just read the article in full and it never ceases to amaze me what cops try to pull. Nothing worse than a bad cop. Reminds me of my a-hole neighbor who's a moto cop. The guy is a pompous overweight jerk. I have seen on no less than two occasions his "buddies" (ie on duty cops) visiting his house in the middle of the night--and those are the times I happen to be have caught the scene so who knows how many times they've really been there. I am pretty sure it's domestic stuff as i have also seen his old lady beating on the door, screaming about him banging some other hag. I am sure his buddies gave him the "benefit of the doubt." The guy drives his personal vehicle like the rules of the road don't apply to him. What a guy! |

Reducati- Do you know me at all? Why would you bring race into this discussion? There is absolutely no correlation between people of all races who CHOOSE a line of work which puts them in a position of power over their fellow man, and ethnicity to which people are BORN. The cop in this article is obviously full of shit. He is embarrassed about his rookie mistake of startling a guy in a convertible while tailgating. He went Tango-Uniform in the back of his car, and knowing he could never live it down in his department, fabricated a story about the guy driving erratically and cutting him off. Charging this driver with anything other than some traffic citation is completely ridiculous, UNLESS it could be shown that the driver put the car in reverse... In ANY rear end accident, WHO is at fault 99.99999999999999999999999% of the time? Now, don't get me started on cops. The cops on BadWeB all know my story AFAIK, and for the most part I believe they understand my point of view. I do not hate cops just because they are cops. I merely tend to view them in general with a jaundiced eye because of MY experiences with them. |

I've met nice cops. I've also been dragged from the back of a car and had a gun put to my head cause I fell asleep in the back seat and woke up when the cop started talking to my friend who was driving. Long story short; we were leaving a concert, buddy drove through a yellow and gets pulled over. I was asleep and sat up when I heard talking. Second Cop standing at my door yells "he's got a gun" and drags me from the car. They toss the car looking for any guns or drugs and then grudgingly let us go when they find nothing. we didn't even have pocket knives on us cause we had to leave them to get into the concert. Cops are people, some are nice some are complete assholes. However, the badge gives them a higher level of authority and that often attracts a$$hole alpha types. |

Here we go again... It is a pretty damn funny photo... priceless really... hopefully the dude's charges won't stick... A few days ago my ass was burning up while doing 5 over the speed limit on my way through the Florida panhandle... I stood up maybe six times in the last hour and a half of the ride... doing between 45 and 60 mph... Unbeknowingly, there was a sheriff's deputy first behind me, and then later a state trooper... I hate to think what I might have done if either of them had hit their lights and sirens behind me while I was riding standing up on the foot pegs... fortunately I was going within a reasonable speed and riding responsibly... Actually surprised this kind of thing doesn't happn more often... |

To me cops are typically very cool, and regular folks that have a tough job.... unless one of them is in hot water, then they circle the wagons and "protect their own" with a zeal that often crosses the line of acceptable conduct. Internal politics within a police force is crazy vicious. |

The motorcycle cop is incompetent. He should be fired or suspended without pay and retrained with a permanent record of this in his personnel file. The various departments and lawyers involved should be investigated for collusion. |

Forget the retraining, that cop should be fired. He's a liar so his word in court is useless. It's also probably not the first time he's blipped his siren at someone with no cause to do so. He probably does it to fool with people. |

years ago, I was on the AC expressway, in a construction zone...where a policecar was speeding up from behind (no lights) didn't know he was a cop at first, he could not get by me because of traffic and construction... but the cop moved up to my bumper like 2ft from my car while we were doing 55mph... It scared me... I thiought it was dangerous for him to be following me so close in a construction zone with my gf also in the car and pregnat. I would never hit the brake in that situation. BUT i did... I "tapped" the brakes to flash the brake lights so he would back off alittle, lol....mistake. Of course he pulled me over and gave me a warning. I was fit-to-be-tird but I bit my tongue. I had never been so... startled/nervous while driving ...and i didnt know what to do. I let my frustration out in a 3 millisecond decision by tapping the brake. Bad mistake. I can see the where it looks bad for the officer but being devils advocate, I can also see how he could be being 100% truthful and the citizen might have bent the truth. It only would have taken an instant, milliseconds for someone to look in their mirror, see the cop, know they are about to be pulled over, decide to tap the brake. (for the hell of it, but also to show some light resistance in the process) But oops, he held the brake a little too long. (old man reflexes maybe) Then when the cops hits... it would be quite easy to hide the animosity he might have had the instance he made the mistake of hitting the brake. Saying the siren "startled me" would be an easy defence. Defying the police and hiding one's animosity is very common for all age groups. Just saying that it is not impossible. I have no idea either way, he just had a bad day probably. |

What was the ticket for? Did you not fight it in court. I would have at least plead my case before a judge. If they were the least bit reasonable it would have probably been thrown out. |

On a personal note if it had been me I would have slowed waaaay down, from 55 down to 35mph, unless there was a posted minimum. That's what I usually do for all tailgaters, especially if there's no way for them to get around. If they back off I'll speed back up. |

The fact that the training points out you shouldn't be to close when you hit the siren 'cuz they might hit the brakes says something doesn't it?? Maybe if he payed attention in class he woulda left a little more room. And to say I was intemidated?? You're the one with a gun, albiet you're upside down Mr. Brown. How much money have they spent trying to clear a cop how is in the wrong? After all is said and done the other guy will probably sue for legal fees stress who knows what else. and the cop saying he has intamate problems points to him wanting to get compansated later.. To much people. And know I'm not a cop hater, just be a fracking man when you F up. |

This is an open and shut case. How in the F can you prove intent the guy meant to cause a collison--he would have to admit it. The cop was following to closely for the conditions and got called on it. Never amazes me the egos on these cops. The guy has intimacy problems cause he has no balls!!! |

LOL! Seal Beach California used to have two tricked out Saleen Mustang interceptors... the city is about 1.5 miles wide. Bottom line, if you rear end somebody, even if they panic-stop... you were not following at a SAFE distance. |

His stupid li'l pee-pee works just like it did before he made a fool of himself. He's just another lawsuit happy loser looking in all the wrong places for "easy street". He should look up the fountain idiot and they could compare notes. If his pee-pee really doesn't work after the accident, maybe it's just too ashamed of the dick it's connected to and is trying to hide... |

This reminds me of that cop that rolled his explorer while trying to catch up with a sport bike. Remember that one? The sportbike guy didn't even know anything about the cop and yet he was being charged for MURDER or some idiocy. |

Yes I do remember, and I see the same A-holes driving at over 100 on the highway without any lights flashing. Pretty sure cameras only record when the lights are on, so they get the major policy violations out of the way before they flick on the lights. May only apply to central NY state cops. |
