I agree with XBNINER, if Buell wants to improve his image, he must try to get away from the negative HD stereotype. They don't need to convert the diehards on a Buell forum, its the Jap/Euro riders that need to be converted and they wont pay attention to ANY bike in a Harley showroom. -Fortunately he only needs to sell 100 of them- |

Augustus74 Not sure about that. I was at New Roc Harley/Ducati last night for there unveiling of there Ducati lineup and it was well attended by the full leather with knee puck crowd.

Didnt say more then 2 brands cannot be represented at the same dealer. Buell/Harley is a unique situation as evidenced by the "kill HD' threads on this very board. Potential Ducati owners do not have a grudge against HD. I think if you want to attract the "rice rocket" crowd, you need to lose the Harley label. |

Ducati has such name recognition, you could sell them at Vespa dealerships. |

Just got this from Jeff at Buell of Danbury (they sell Harleys too): http://www.ride-ct.com/ When Is A Dealer Not A Dealer? By Bud Wilkinson of RIDE-CT.com When is a motorcycle dealer not a dealer? That’s an interesting question, and it applies to Harley-Davidson of Danbury, which used to also sell Buell motorcycles before Harley scrapped the brand. Now, Buell founder Erik Buell is back with a new company, Erik Buell Racing, and a new superbike – the Erik Buell Racing 1190RS. H-D of Danbury wants to be a dealer but hasn’t signed any papers or put up any signage. “We have expressed an interest in being a dealer, but we’re not a dealer yet,” H-D of Danbury marketing director Jeff Watson said Friday. However, he added, “If someone does want an Erik Buell Racing 1190RS, we can take an order for one of their new motorcycles.” Guess that means H-D of Danbury has “favored nation” status with Erik Buell Racing based on the prior relationship with Buell, which is a good thing for lovers of Erik Buell’s products.} (Message edited by jaimec on March 07, 2011) |

These are very exciting times . . . . I'd take each and every media tidbit with a grain of salt. I suspect more and more exciting information will become available. |
