I didn't want to be the one that fed the hijacker, but now that Blake did the honors: Asdf, most of the younger crowd can type faster than many can speak, especially if using acronyms and other "txt speak". Similar to how the recorder at a court works. Not to mention the convience, especially in situations where talking isn't very possible. I was at a local rollerderby event tonight, and due to the loud music combined with the announcers, you can't have a conversation with the person next to you without putting your mouth by their ear. I wanted to contact my cousin regarding something he sent, it wasn't something worth making a whole conversation about over either. I sent him a quick text, and a minute later got the quick response. No interrupting him at possibly a bad time, plus he got the message on the first try, unlike with voice I would have to at a minimum walk a block away before he can hear me over the noise. Sorry for the rant, but voice communication is all but dead. |

Sorry! I didn't intend to hijack. I thought that I actually answered the questions, but used what I mistakenly thought was a bit of humor in doing so. My answers were also honest, for me, and therefore might be useful to the survey. |

I seldom text. Maybe once a month, or so. I don't know how to answer the second question. I have friends all over the world. Some, I see fairly often, but some I haven't seen in years. (that includes some of my closest and best friends). |

I wanted to thank everyone who took the time to help my son with his homework. Between this post and the responses we got through facebook, we have the required number of responses. Thanks again. -Chance |

Are family and romantic interests to be classified as "friends"? I was assuming that friends meant those who are non-family, non-GF. Otherwise, I see my best friends every day. |

The survey is over but I guess we're still gonig... ~175/week I see friends at least 4 days a week, not counting girlfriend. I'm with Blake on this - texting is much easier in many cirumstances. When my neighbor wants the dogs to play outside, he just says, "dogs can play". I either bring the pooch over or tell him I can't right then. |

20 3 I don't live with my children, so if I want daily interaction, I have to use the communication method du jour (they're teenage girls) and that means texting. I'd rather talk to them, but that'd be once a day. They text me all the time. |
