I suspect even liberals know deep down that their leaders are lying to them even if they won't admit it. When America has a cadre of conservatives who are adamant about telling the truth and acting upon that truth, people will support them...even liberals eventually.

Christie and Walker are doing what has needed to be done for a long time and they deserve our support. We must pull out of this crash dive towards financial disaster.

Tell it like it T. I. is!

You've got to like a politician that talks so straight. No sugar coating. No evading. Just the hard hitting facts, and how he's going to deal with the problems. We need much more of this kind of leadership.

That is one good politician (he was lawyer).

As for the teachers union not willing to accept a one time pay freeze and 1.5% contribution to health care, I believe they made a an error.

As for the protesting teachers in Wi, welcome to America. It's their right!

Actually, it's NOT their right. What they did is conduct an ILLEGAL strike expressly prohibited by their collective bargaining agreement.

Interesting how collective bargaining agreements are the end all be all until they become inconvenient and then they are cast aside. The hypocrisy is deafening.

Beyond that, flooding the house chamber floor, preventing the house from doing business is also illegal. They have done this more than once in recent days. I'm really surprised that there haven't been arrests over that. You know if a group of Tea Party protesters flooded the floor of the house chamber the media would be having a field day with it.

The teachers in Wisconsin broke rules, laws and simply had bad manners.

They proved to me something I'd long suspected about far too many teachers in public schools.

They were an embarrassment and it's a shame the great, dedicated teachers had to be associated with that group.

While they may not have a right to strike, they have a right to protest. Just as those who protested race issues a few decades ago did. In case any forgot (or didn't learn) there was a LOT of civil disobedience that occured.

I will admit a lot of unions went way beyond bargaing for a fair wage and decent work conditions. They kept seeking more and more and more. They became corrupt. They need to be reformed.

Or, we could castrate or eliminate unions. Maybe we can regress to the way it was that got unions started in the first place. Then we can start all over again!

They want to protest on their own time after work hours, feel free.

The protests were during the day during class. This was illegal.

Like most leftists, the WEA is willing to abide by the rules and laws when it suits their purposes, but will cast these same rules aside the second they don't meet their needs.

Ask the Wisconsin 14 how important the rule of law is.

To Those who considered the reading of the US Constitution in the House as a political stunt or the recitation of an ancient, outdated document, you are on notice. You will be shown the door with great enthusiasm and your lack of patriotism will never be forgotten nor forgiven.

A new group of Conservative leaders is emerging and being strengthened in the crucible of political combat. One or more will become President. Americans across the spectrum will listen to the leader who dares to speak the truth. This happened in 1984 when Democrats voted for Reagan and it will happen again.

I look forward to the day that we apologize to Great Britain and ask for the bust of Winston Churchill to be returned to the White House after this Obama nonsense becomes ancient history.

>>>I will admit a lot of unions went way beyond bargaing for a fair wage and decent work conditions.

That's an accurate statement.

They broke the law.

Even I knew . . during the turbulent 60's . . better than to miss class to protest.

If I am paying you to teach my kids and you feign illness to be absent from the classroom I hope your lazy no good ass is prosecuted to the full extent of the law . . no matter which side you come down on politically.

OK, you guys know I am way Left. That does not change the fact that this is union busting. Own it. Don't call it anything else. Just an observation here, though. By and large, Corporate America supports Republicans, and unions support Democrats. Just sounds like the Republicans are trying to ensure that Democrats can no longer run effective campaigns against them by removing one of the Democrats largest contributors. Sounds to me like a coup in progress. But I'll concede one thing. With the Right Wing in power, either things are going to get much better (affordable health care, jobs), and everyone will say "Well, I guess we were wrong and you were right." or things will go to hell in a handbasket. Even as Left Wing as I am, I really hope things get better. But just remember, you can make funding difficult for Democrats, but for Joe Blow, private citizen, if things don't get better, it won't take a well funded campaign to convince him to throw you all out.

I don't know how it's union busting, not that I would be against busting the teachers union. They are simply trying to remove the collective bargaining for benefits packages. The union will still be there to fight for wages, work environment, tenure, etc.

With the Right Wing in power, either things are going to get much better (affordable health care, jobs), and everyone will say "Well, I guess we were wrong and you were right." or things will go to hell in a handbasket.

That pretty much describes the situation we have now, with the exception that it's the policies of the left that have us in the proverbial hand basket.

If you are referring to public employees unions, then you need to complete your logical thought. The Dems (and some Republicans) get contributions from the union who in turn get their money from member's union dues who in turn get paid from the state who in turn only derive their money from the taxpayers. This is not voluntary and we taxpayers are finally waking up and saying "hell no". I do not want my tax money to be used as a weapon against my interests. It is theft, nothing less than if a thief came into my house and held me up at gun point.

Get ready for the release of "Atlas Shrugged" on April 15.

Wow your observant,Thank God we have someone in this state that does not cave in to the status quo!
Chistie is trying to bring some sense of financial responsibility back to the state it hasn't had in decades.
Industrial styled unions have no place in public service.
I just hope he sticks to his word, as he has, and DOES NOT run for the White house,At least until he has two terms in NJ
