If anyone gets there after-hours, gate 40 on Williamson Rd (Dr?) is open late. I rolled in about 11pm last night, pouring ass rain, guy asked how I was..."moist" got me a wave through the gate, no questions, no admission.
At least I didn't have to pay for my nine-hour stay.
See? I really was there...I swear...
That's this morning as I was re-packing. Figured "hey, this is the camera bag...might as well get proof".
But after all sorts of fun with the TSA (yes...that titanium SUCKS sometimes), booking a shipper to get my Uly home to me out of my parents' garage in St Augustine, and a storm landing that got applause from everyone on the plane in Baltimore...I'm home.
Thankfully right now, the back yard is the only thing under water. But its about eight feet from the foundation, and the sump is kickin' overtime, and the river is still rising so its anyone's guess. At least the backup sump pump has an alarm to let me know its been triggered...so when (if?) I doze off, I'll hear it screaming an alert at me.
I hope everyone has a great time. Char, enjoy the breakfast! Mark - get your ass on a bike and get down there. I rode in rain from SC through the gate - thank god Gerbings makes good gear. Even though I was soaked...I was warm  Although, a Scala G4? Does NOT like being wet for that long. Hopefully it's just wet contacts and it'll clear up...
Court, take tons of good photos for us. Erik and all the Elves, kick ass - all around, everywhere you go, just show 'em what you're made of. Everyone have a beer for me, and some fun. Dammit. If I can't have it...somebody better do it for me! Twice!!! |

left in the rain... that turned to sleet... that turned to snow.... back to sleet... back to rain...
1961.4 miles round trip...
only stopped by the PO PO once...
got to see some friends and some racing...
all in all, it was a good trip.
I'll post some pics & more details when I get home. |
