There are no compromises on this motorcycle. It is literally a race machine with lights and mirrors, and a legal exhaust. No passengers even! Rake and trail are fully adjustable, and Erik says that the ZTL brake on this bike is the best ever. Note the cooling duct for the caliper. | ||

Erik and I had a long talk about the bike, and he had a lot to say of course. Essentially, there will be a base model bike that you can add options to until you get up to the "Carbon Edition" bike, which is the top-of-the-line. The non-carbon bikes will have fiberglass bodywork. Interestingly enough, while I was talking to Erik, one of the reps from Hotbodies Racing stopped by and asked Erik when they could chat. I suggested to Erik that they do an "Amsoil" version of the bike, and he said he'd been thinking about that already. Call it a "Geoff May Signature Series". The reason for the extra exhaust pipe is that the motor is so much more powerful, and noisier, they needed it in order to get the sound down to a legal level. He also said it gave some additional horsepower. Everyone is sure to love the switchgear, which looks a lot better than the familiar old Buell stuff. I know we talked about a lot more but right now I'm drawing a blank. I can tell you for sure though, the 1190RS is one dead-sexy motorcycle! (Message edited by Indy_bueller on February 18, 2011) | ||
