$43K would make it cheaper than a new Chevy Suburban, and some mini-vans. (Not that I can afford any of the above, just putting it in perspective...) |

The thing from that Milwaukee Journal article that made me scratch my head was the S&S involvement. I guess those of us which hoped for Rotax power going forward may be disappointed. I was really hoping for a 2 stroke bike using Rotax's new clean(er) motor. Could be completely wrong and can't wait to see finalized product. Anybody going to the dealer show this weekend in Indy? If so take pics if the bike is truly going to be there. |

The whole pricing issue for the new Buell bike is interesting. How do you pick a price point? The variables are pure supply and demand. I posted a longer post here http://davegess.com |

I plan to be there Saturday. I'll try and be subtly obvious to other Buellers. ...Maybe a Buell hat and drooling. |

Does anyone have a guess as to who will be able to buy the first 1190RS? Will it be a previous/current Buell owner, collector, some rich kid spending daddy's money? Is it already spoken for? |

Anonymous gave some of us a sneak peak at that rear wheel design a few months ago! Tons of c/f in that pic, wonder what the bike is going to weigh?? |

I am going to faint like a little school girl now. That is however, a perfectly acceptable response I think. That is one fiiiiiiine looking motorcycle! |

Looks like RoadRacingWorld has an extra photo or two on their page: http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/article/?artic le=43359 I love this quote:
quote:Asked if he was going to put the first production version of the Erik Buell Racing 1190RS aside for himself, Buell, a former Pro road racer, said, “I was just telling the guys the other day, ‘I’ve got to have one of these,’ but I don’t have any money. My money’s all tied up in the business. I’ve got to have one of these. It’s so beautiful. It’s so very, very nice, and it’s exactly the kind of bike I would love to own. I just don’t know if I can afford it right now. I’ve got to sell my car and drive a Pinto or something. I’ve got to have it.”

>>>>Should we take up a collection for a Pinto? Base on Erik's experience with the Ford Fiesta . . . I'm saying we may want to back away from that one.

Hmmm... A Pinto... add two, no make it three, 1190 engines... That made me think of the time Erik was talking about the ride he took on a Blast with an XB 1200 engine stuffed in the frame. The poor chopper rider he blew past is probably still talking about the Blast that smoked him... |
