I've been prescribed lunesta for a sleep disorder (periodic limb movement disorder) . Anybody have any experiences taking it? I've heard you may do some weird things while taking it and you may not remember doing those things |

If you are doing weird things you may not want to remember. No experience taking it. People move their limbs while they sleep, why would a medical doctor prescribe that other than to receive the obvious kickback from Sunovion? |

Not so far for me. I'm on a 2mg dose and I don't have any blackouts or anything like that. No "medicine hangover" in the morning, either - I just...wake up. Almost like normal I do get the nasty aftertaste in the morning...but brushing as soon as I get up takes care of that. And, as background...I hate medicine in general. This is the first time I've ever voluntarily gotten (and kept filled) a prescription for anything. |

As with any order sleep medication of this type you should make sure you take it, hit the sack and dedicate enough time to sleep. Don't try to fight it. I think the problems happen when people start to take these things recreationally or mix them with booze. I take ambien occasionally when I'm told at the end of the workday that I am to report back at 0300 or some other ungodly hour. It helps me get a solid 8 when otherwise I would never fall asleep. |

I think Johnny is right. You have to take it, then go to sleep. If you fight it or stay up watching TV, thats when the silliness occurs. I used to take ambien, and I loved it. Basically, the stuff just shuts your brain off. If you dont go to sleep after it takes effect, you end up being impulsive and unsmart. By all means, STAY OFF EBAY after taking it. Just trust me on that one. |

I never understood the logic in taking something then going to sleep and missing what it did. Sort of like starting a motor and letting it idle till the tank runs dry. Oh, I've been clean for 16 years. |

As with all sleeping pills, you have to "catch the wave". Take it when you are ready for bed, not before. I have taken both Ambien and Lunesta. Your response will be highly individual, so take it carefully. Ambien worked well for me until I developed a tolerance to it. Lunesta made me literally homicidal. Don't let that scare you; that's just me. |

+ 1 Socoken. Ambien and EBay are a volatile mix. Lol |

I've always wanted to make a Flash cartoon parody of the Lunesta commercials. Something about a dude getting all drugged up, them totally flipping out when the Giant Glowing Moth shows up like he's on a bad acid trip. ~SM |

I've found that if I can't sleep, driving 1000 miles or so will usually do the trick. I can get a solid 3 to 4 hours easy after that. |
