Noises inside motor, dealer found metal shavings and lots of them. $3K for a rebuild on the motor. I need to find a used motor or used bike to get it fixed. Sorry to hear that- mine took a dump at about 23K, but I got lucky- I worked for several years at my local HD/BUELL dealer, managed to get a good motor from my buddy there, the service writer, for $500- a few more Benjamins for my independent wrench to install, I was back on the road. Good luck- keep an eye peeled here for a replacement. Salvage yards with a good rep too...   Slaughter Posted on Saturday, February 12, 2011 - 11:53 am:        IF (BIG IF) you have a trustworthy dealer and you can't do the rebuild yourself, and IF he's willing to do it for $3K, that may be the best way. Used motors seem to be going for $1500 and then you're starting with an unknown situation.
