I remember a lawsuite a couple of years ago where a Honda dealership was sued because they sold and installed an engine guard and when the guy crashed his legs got entangled in the crash bars and made his injuries worse.
The same reason I put black laced wheels on it, a solo sprung seat (quick detach), new dash face plate, new gauges and tach set, new larger tank, flipped the front fender around backwards, paid a painter, got the older emblems, traded off the stock exhaust, put the big sucker cleaner, the new derby cover, old bicycle grips, got a head light nacelle, the dyna shocks, fork gaiters; and have on order a single howard horn
because I wanted that look to the original bike of my grandfathers. I was going to do an upgrade to the motor to get more performance, but by the time I did that... the number it added up to, it just made more sense to put the money down on the CityX. No regrets.
I had a sportster, the 1st year they were rubber mounted, a 1200 custom that I put the Harley hard bags on and the engine guards. I thought it looked cool. I had the bags painted to match the bike....I have a picture somewhere! Actually those bags were 3 different colors because they were on 3 different sportsters. And each bike had engine guards so I didn't totally ruin the bike when I fell over, Why the bags? A girl has to have a place to put her STUFF! Carol
