At least the performers in Riverdance did what they intended with fairly good skills. That type of show just isn't for me, at all. The Superbowl halftime show was just plain HORRIBLE! What is the deal with that? Just awful. | ||

My take on the Black Eyed Peas is they have great hooks, I actually love the costumes, and after 20 sec of hook, the rest of the song bores me to tears. No crowd on the field, just choreographed dancers with light suits... ok. So.... pretty show, not impressed, played better with the sound off. I don't want to hear the Anthem done American Idol style. I find it ( A. Idol crap ) overblown and pretentious.... and I liked progressive rock with it's self indulgent orchestration. I don't mind a bit of freedom of interpretation on the Star Spangled Banner. It's a bitch of a song to sing, and it's what? 5 octaves? ( actually an octave & a half... still hard ) I even agree with Garrison Keillor that it should be sung in the original G major instead of B flat. ( It may be the only thing I agree with him on ) It is after all the music to a drinking song. It shouldn't be a test. But that Christina girl is cute in a trashy way. Has she done anything good? | ||

I actually thought blackeyedpea looked old and wondered why kids would like them so much after seeing a bunch of old people sing a medley of stupid 3 verse songs. I like Toona's idea of bringing back the "true bands". The 2 VW commercials were best imho. OH btw...,...also good commercial but .. Did anyone else get the urge to punch eminem in the face when he pointed his finger at the camera?? | ||

This just in from the facebook side of things. My old aunt (honestly I didnot realize she was still alive, satan must have sent her a notice he wasnt ready yet) apparently was in a tither because there were not 'black eyed peas' ham hoks and chitlins on the table as she was promised. life from a southern winnebego! I will say the only thing I miss about the family is the food. Being a yankee I cant get decent 'native food' here in Seattle Metro. Greens, chitlins, ham hoks, jouls, gizzards, green fried tomata's, black eye peas, gator, hush puppies, cat fish, decent grits, jambalaya worth the fork, 'hot' food. damn it, now my tummy is belly sic for gramma's cookin. Not gramma mind you, just her cookin. | ||

Who the heck is in charge of these halftime shows anyway? The median age of superbowl viewers has got to be close to 40 but every halftime show is geared to 15 year-olds. I don't really give a rat's a$$ about Justin Timberlake, et al. I'd rather watch a panel of guys talk about the 1st half and what each team needs to do in the second. Have Huey Lewis sing the National Anthem a capella or just music only by the Marine Corps Band. | ||
