For those who don't remember you can start from the beginning here. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/4062/577232.html For those that do, Bella should be a year old some time this month. Here are a few of the latest pics.
She has been a wonderful dog, especially with the kids. We can let her out the front door and she'll never leave the front yard, unless she spots a squirrel in the neighbor's yard then all bets are off. She'll also hunt rabbits, just ask the other neighbors with the pet rabbit She only eats when she's hungry so we can put food out and not worry about her eating just to be eating which is nice. I can take her for a walk around the neighborhood then let her off her leash at a vacant field and not worry about her running off. Just an all around great dog and we're happy to be celebrating what will be the first of many birthdays. We have however found something she likes more than ice cream...Twizzlers. She will go nuts when you break out the chewy red licorice strips. Can't give her too much but a strip every other day seems to be ok.
The initial weight of 55 to 60 pounds was a little conservative. We weighed her Saturday and she was 67 pounds and looks as though she could fill out a little more, I'm guessing she'll end up between 70 and 75 but that's alright. Well, that's the update for now, thanks again to everyone involved with the rescue back in July and a special thanks to Alex and Heather for caring enough to take care of her and find her a home, proving once again the awesomeness of the Badweb. That's great!! I would have loved to have had her but she found a good home... and because you took her in, that left space at my house for this guy... and his last day at the shelter

+1... My old buddy is 17YO- won't be too long before he's done... Basenjis tend to live longer than most breeds, been a great run with him- every day now I gotta try to determine if he's having "good" dog days... Sorry bout the debbie downer stuff- someday I gotta get a scanner to put up the TONS of pics I've taken of him... Celebrate life like a dawg with a new steak/rib bone!!! |

Mike, She looks great!!! Glad she's turned out to be a great pup and a keeper. We couldn't be happier for all of you. Hopefully we'll get out your way soon to visit, at least we know what kind of candy to bring... Alex and Heather |

Happy Birthday Bella Great looking "polybreed" dog Our last of 5 dogs is 17+. She was the one "pound pup" out of the five and outlived them all. She is on 3 different medications and showing her age but, "until death do us part" |
